A Gem in the Maira Valley

Superb10

Michele

May 2023

Good, quiet, clear place with compact pitches, clean toilets and showers, sensational kitchen and a small supermarket whose selection is second to none. Especially the dinner based on local menus is a sensation. The selection of drinks is equally impressive, and the location on the beautiful road up to the Gardetta is also outstanding.

Great location, not suitable for large RVs.

We were there for one night. The reception was a bit grumpy, but the farewell was warmer. We ate in town, with two very good restaurants within walking distance. The sanitary facilities were in good condition, and even the accessible bathrooms were really well equipped. The location in the valley is dreamy. The pitches for motorhomes are like small horse paddocks and lack charm. Unfortunately, the meadow behind is separated by a fence.

June 2020

As part of a cycling tour through the Sea Alps, we spent a night here. Heartfelt hospitality, delicious food, and good amenities - despite Corona. The two German leaseholders live and work here with full enthusiasm. I will come back!

The pitches are good and somewhat level, power connection 16 Amperes. Showers only with token 1.50, water only lukewarm, shower time too short, exit from the site with a caravan too steep, narrow and gravelled. Staff friendly but they think that shower time and water temperature are okay. The mini-market is great: meat, cheese, baked goods and fresh fruits and vegetables. The site is okay, but showers in September with slight frost at night are not recommended. A warm shower must be included at 25 euros.

Shower is chargeable, but set too short, water temperature not adjustable ("alternating showers") - cleanliness poor - electricity is charged extra - only cold water for rinsing (must be repurposed from the washing area). Other places handle more and faster changing guests more confidently for less money (Salbertrand). Recommendation only because of the location.

We were there in July 2016. A super beautiful place, also and especially for bikers as a starting point for gravel tours. Quiet, idyllic - and at night the distant howling of wolves. Close by and easily accessible is Marmora with great gastronomy. Really - everything was perfect. The sanitary facilities are okay, but no more than that. Anyway: we would go back immediately!
