The spot by the lake is very beautiful and well equipped. However, for the first time, we were required to pay a fee of 10.00 euros at a campsite because we arrived just before the lunch break - we have never experienced such a thing, neither in hotels nor on a regular caravan pitch. More than the money, we were saddened by this type of cultural loss.

Nice place with many weaknesses

The sanitary buildings are very clean, but the old building is very rundown. Of 4 urinals, there are only two and the flush often fails. The mirrors are chipped with large edges. In one or the other, the shower regulator is defective, cold showering is not really my thing. The new sanitary building looks good but is now standard. There are plenty of parking spaces, some very large, some a bit cramped. The roll service is good. The distance to the lake goes through a gate with a chip card over a steep path to a meadow. The beach is quite far away and costs extra. Unfortunately, the reception building is still under construction and that does not come without noise, sometimes as early as 7:00 AM. The staff is very friendly, but the total price is not reasonable.

Large Campsite

The pitches are large, the staff very friendly, the sanitary facilities were relatively clean but urgently need to be renovated. Unfortunately, the prices are a bit overpriced as this is not a 5-star campsite.

Price for 5 stars, reality not even 2 stars!

It may be that the site was taken over only 2 years ago, but especially regarding pricing, one should think carefully. Although a new sanitary facility is under construction, the existing sanitary facilities are comparable to an experience area! With a bit of luck, you get hot water when you hit the right shower; the water even arrives where it should! The cleaning is also quick and only superficial! The new owners should try their showers and cleanliness themselves! As for the places themselves, anyone who wants to vacation in craters is well taken care of here! Conclusion for me and my family: never again. With the prices, one can expect cleanliness, good amenities, and decent places. If one cannot provide that, they should reconsider their pricing.

Location great, completely overpriced

Prices above are no longer valid: 41 Euros for a motorhome parking space 5x10m on an unkempt gravel parking lot, 2 adults, 1 dog, and electricity. Construction site directly next to it, related sanitary facilities closed due to renovation. Remaining sanitary facilities from the 80s, cleanliness dependent on the time of day - should be cleaned more often during the day. No fresh water at the motorhome, only at normal pitches at the end of the access roads. (Fresh) water for motorhome at the disposal station - directly over the sewage drain, hose lying on the ground. Some renovations by the operator have been done, like painting of tiny houses. A possible future service does not justify the current price.

Once and never again.

We stood next to the construction site in the dirt. Charging €41 for that is really outrageous. The sanitary was also dirty. We had to search for the parking spot for a long time because it was not numbered.

Super great location by the lake

Friendly staff. Area under construction with building sites. Parking space large enough, but unkempt and also looked like a construction site due to hanging cables, etc. To charge 19,- for the night was already outrageous. We have never seen such dirty sanitary facilities as at the camping sites. The ADAC should review its rating. Once everything is finished and renovated, this will surely be a beautiful place.

A campsite close to nature on the picturesque shores of the Losheim reservoir
On the southern edge of the Black Forest, Camping Losheim am See is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and families with children. The peaceful campsite, now also known as Wellnester Camp, is located in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park on the banks of the large Losheim reservoir. The idyllic body of water in the north of Saarland offers young and old a wealth of leisure activities. Whether pedal boating, surfing, stand-up paddling or swimming: Water fun is guaranteed. If you are looking for relaxation while hiking and cycling, the campsite is also the right place for you. The multi-award-winning Saar-Hunsrück-Steig trail runs in the immediate vicinity and allows nature lovers to immerse themselves in a pristine landscape of deep forests, seemingly endless meadows and babbling streams. Alternatively, the approximately 4-kilometre Losheimer See circular trail not far from the campsite invites you to take a long walk. Back on the dog-friendly, 10-hectare holiday site, spacious pitches for caravans and motorhomes await alongside rentable retro caravans and tiny houses with a garden and terrace. There is also a meadow area planted with trees and shrubs. All pitches are equipped with electricity. Water taps can be found throughout the campsite. Modernised sanitary facilities including a washing machine and dryer room are also available.
Leisure fun for the whole family in Losheim
In addition to the unparcelled tent pitches at Losheim am See campsite, children will discover a playground where they can run around. There are also dedicated ball courts and designated bathing areas for swimming and splashing around. Guests can enjoy drinks and a sweet snack in between meals at the campsite's own Café Camperia with its stylish ambience and cosy outdoor area under the trees. Not far from the campsite, guests can discover other catering establishments to enjoy and linger. Losheim's high leisure factor also speaks for itself. The local lido with diving platform and water slide is just as attractive as the mini golf course and the boat harbour. A special attraction is the lake garden right by the water. Here you can stroll around in a sea of flowers and grasses, relax on sun loungers and watch the children having a great time in the huge water playground. Alternatively, you can chug through the countryside on the nostalgic Losheim museum railway. The region around Camping Losheim am See is particularly famous for the Great Saar Loop. An excursion to the Cloef viewpoint in Mettlach, around 16 kilometres from the campsite, offers a breathtaking view of the winding river and its green valley. History buffs can visit the Roman Villa Borg archaeological park in the Moselle town of Perl.
In the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, Camping Losheim am See is a Saarland outdoor paradise between water and forest.
