Camping Lido Cannero

The campground is very well maintained, after each departure the pitch is cleaned by the staff. All employees are very friendly and helpful. The plots are partly quite small. The site is located far away from the main road with a direct view of the lake. There are areas available for dog walks, but they are limited. If you want to hike longer distances, some steep climbs have to be conquered.

We were back after six years and 5 not-so-great pitches and have already booked for 2024. The atmosphere, the view of water, mountains, and thunderstorms is unique. The staff is incredibly friendly, even though only one employee speaks German. The mini-market offers everything a camper needs - we bought the rolls 100 meters further on afterwards. The sanitary facilities will receive the much-needed renovation in November - they were clean, however. Only about 40 pitches - no playground, no animation. You can go swimming in the clean lake with your dog in the evenings. So far, the most beautiful spot for us!

We stayed for 4 nights at the campsite. The location (right by the lake) is positive, the plots are well-kept, and the Wi-Fi worked. However, we found the numerous posted prohibitions with threats of penalties, which are actually enforced, to be negative. We laid our power cable over the gravel path to a free outlet since the nearest power connection was hopelessly overcrowded (7 instead of 4 plugs!). We were instructed to retrieve another splitter at the reception the next day since the cable could not be left there (risk of explosion if a car drives over the cable). There is no toilet paper in the toilet cubicles. In the washing area, there is a dispenser with individual sheets, but it is often empty. Generally, the sanitary facilities are rather inadequate (cubicles without shower walls, fixtures for the shower heads loose, water doesn't always drain, and once in the morning brown water came out). However, the sanitary facilities are thoroughly cleaned once a day by a very nice employee. There is basically no night quiet. In our part of the campsite, there was no barrier, so other guests drove around the site at night. The restaurant across the street throws all glass bottles into a container every evening between 11 and midnight. Additionally, it seems that a dog is kept in a cage there, which starts howling and whining late at night. Also, one should know that the church bell rings at all Christian and un-Christian times – although the campsite cannot do anything about it.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed very friendly. The site is divided into two areas, which are blocked by a street leading to the public beach with parked cars. It was already quite tight for access, and the gate is also narrow. The site itself is partially laid out in terrace form, which is very nice. It is only about 100 meters to the lake, which was also great. The pitches are poorly shaded by smaller lindens, which was not very helpful for shade given the temperatures. The sanitary facilities are cleaned twice a day and look just as it all left. They are not the newest, but they don't need to be either. They served their purpose. There is also a small shop with a bar. Cannero offers a very beautiful promenade with restaurants, a market (Fridays), and two shops for everyday needs. Upon departure, we opted for an early departure before the bathers parked everything; otherwise, there might not have been any way out.

Quiet place, quite small but cozy. Called at 8:30 in the morning and managed to get a spot for one night. Would have stayed longer if it had been possible.

The campsite is very nicely situated, very clean and right by the lake, we will come back.

Friendly, helpful staff. The site facilities could do with modernization; the size for the number of guests is tight. Despite having a frontline spot, there is only a limited view of the lake; directly in front of the spot is a public bathing area. Very lively activity on weekends. Very beautiful beach promenade with good gastronomy. Overall, an idyllic site with good recreational value.
