Location good - rest less

The place has definitely passed its peak. The reception hall echoes so badly that one can hardly communicate during multiple conversations. Occupied spots are already allocated to newcomers in the morning, even though there are several hundred free spots available. Noisy until deep into the night. Sanitary facilities were very clean. In the past, one could leave without extra charges in the late afternoon outside of the season. Camping used to have something to do with freedom. Pizzas are excellent!

Simple but good.

Very good8

I cannot understand what is being complained about at a high level here. When we were here at the end of September, the site was about 20% occupied. All sanitary buildings were open. Very clean, though old. All shops were open. Paid 23 euros per day with a motorhome right at the exit. I extended for 2 days without any problems and without any surcharge. The way to the water is long. But there is a path next to the campsite where you can ride to the water.

Has long seen its better days - too expensive in relation

July 2023

The place overall gives a dirty, unkempt impression, the pool is far too small and offers no variety, the sea is very far away, the sanitary facilities are, depending on the time of day, a disgrace. With announced extension, an unexplainable surcharge is applied to the daily price although the place was overall half empty.

The place is large but not necessarily well maintained. The reception area is bare, old, and reminiscent of a container. The security at the entrance works well. Unfortunately, no one speaks German at the reception. The washrooms are also in need of more than just renovation, old, with rotting grout, no toilet seats, no toilet paper, and worn out sinks. Although everything was relatively clean, it was far from the rating given by the ADAC. At the pitch, there was a water connection for 8 spots and thus only one sewage disposal. The most modern feature was the service unit for emptying for 4 motorhomes, it's just a shame that fresh water also has to be paid for here. The dreamlike beach could compensate for a lot with its endless expanses if the path to the water were shorter. It's a pity that the operator has not invested in appearance and modernization for a long time.

Not Recommended for Families with Children

There are few spots surrounded by trees that provide even a hint of shade. The toilets are conditionally clean, at least when you use the facilities directly after the cleaning staff. Otherwise, everything quickly becomes dirty again thanks to the youth groups. Apparently, there is also lighting there only alternating between the ladies' and gents'. During our 2-week stay, we did not have lights on both toilets even once in the evening. Once the activities of the youth groups are over for the evening, the toilets seem to become a popular meeting point. Unfortunately, this continues late into the night, with no one from the campsite taking care of it. Even after complaints from both the youths, who just laugh, and the site staff, nothing has changed. Furthermore, there does not seem to be any space for the beloved four-legged friends. Anyone who brings a dog can let it go wherever they stand. This is noticeable in that there are piles of dog waste all along the paths, left by owners who are so back-stricken that they cannot pick it up. All in all, the only positive thing is that the site is right by the sea.

Dirty, uninviting site, pool much too small, very nice fine beach

May 2022

"The dirtiest toilets since the Middle Ages" describes our son the sanitary facilities. The pool area is far too small for the number of campers that can be accommodated. Very strict lifeguards. Beautiful fine sandy beach, unfortunately the walk to the sea is about 20 minutes on foot. But worth seeing! A major downside: the passage to the beach closes at 10 PM. This means you have to start your way home by 9:40 PM. Sunset at the beach is tight in the high summer.

Campsite with a mega beautiful beach

The campsite is overall okay. The pool with its slides is worth a visit. However, it is too small for the size of the park. The lifeguards are very strict and you are constantly being admonished. This can sometimes be very exhausting. You have direct access to a mega beautiful beach. The toilet facilities, however, are not particularly nice. The toilets and also the showers are often not very clean. For that, we deducted 2 points. Nevertheless, the campsite can be recommended. We did not test the restaurant. It did not look very inviting.

Camping to Get Used To

June 2021

The campsite is geared for masses, it is simply too large. The reception at the front desk is also not exactly service-oriented. The sanitary facilities are not clean and neglected. More frequent cleaning of the facilities would help - especially during COVID-19 times. The pitches are partly quite large and the location of the site directly on the beach is good. Nevertheless, the fun of the camper vacation unfortunately does not come here.

More infos about Camping L'Espiguette

The wide, unspoilt sandy beach invites you to take long walks, sunbathe and build sandcastles, the Mediterranean Sea glistens in the most beautiful shades of blue and the guests of Camping L'Espiguette enjoy their days off to their heart's content. The extensive campsite in south-east France offers a wide range of leisure activities for bathers, water sports enthusiasts and families with children.

The child-friendly holiday area on the Mediterranean

43 hectares is a figure that will amaze many guests: That's how vast Camping L'Espiguette is on France's Mediterranean coast. There's just as much to discover here. The Splash water park, for example, is designed like a large cruise ship moored directly at the campsite. Several water slides, including a 10 metre steep slide, as well as a shallow children's paddling area are spread out in this fun area. The youngest children can sail around on the man-made Mississippi River in small pedal boats and let off steam in the neighbouring bouncy castle park. Guests can reserve a berth in the private harbour and park their motorboat or jet ski here for the duration of their holiday. The motivated entertainment team provides a variety of activities, especially during the high season, and invites guests to keep fit together with aqua gymnastics and aerobics. Those who would like to take their four-legged friends with them on holiday in France can do so. Dog showers are freely available at Camping L'Espiguette. 1,100 parcelled out pitches, some surrounded by hedges and oleander bushes and surrounded by trees, palms and junipers, are spread across the holiday complex, which is open from April to November. Each of the pitches is equipped with an electricity connection. A wide range of products for daily needs, fresh fruit and vegetables and fragrant baked goods are available in the on-site shopping centre.

A lively holiday region with many possibilities

Guests can also hire bicycles directly at Camping L'Espiguette. A tour could take you to the town of La Grande-Motte, just a few kilometres to the north-west. Here you can visit a leisure park, a casino and an adventure pool. A visit to the Seaquarium, around 4 kilometres from the campsite, is also worthwhile. Here you can marvel at 200 different underwater creatures, including cute seals and harbour seals, mighty sharks and colourful reef fish. On the other hand, those who prefer to breathe in the city air should not miss out on a trip to Montpellier. One of its landmarks is the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, parts of which date back to the 14th century.
