Excursions to the mountains and the sea

Visitors are well advised to get on their bikes and explore the Lac de Saint-Cassien, 6 kilometres away. At the Plage de l'Américain, you can swim, surf, play beach volleyball or go fishing. Hiking enthusiasts are drawn to the Esterel with its numerous hiking trails that lead along wooded slopes and red rock formations. The fashionable seaside resort of Cannes with its famous Plage de la Croisette and Walk of Fame can be reached by car in around half an hour. If you prefer a quieter pace, take a look around Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel. The municipality consists of several settlements, some of which are separated by deep ravines. The surrounding forests are perfect for hiking and consist of cork oaks, pines and chestnut trees. Just south of the municipality lies the picturesque Lac de l'Avellan. If you head south-west from the campsite, you can reach Saint-Raphael in half an hour. This seaside resort is also considered one of the most beautiful on the Côte d'Azur. The coast here is characterised by the Calanques - secluded, deeply indented bays with wonderful beaches. Camping Les Philippons in the Var department is located in the Esterel low mountain range.
