Camping Les Criques de Porteils

A very beautifully arranged terraced campsite with old trees. The reception was excellent. We were shown possible free spots with a golf cart. All staff members are very accommodating and extremely friendly. Nice sports field. Small swimming pool with professional, very attentive lifeguard! Clean sanitary facilities. A refreshing authentic service, as we wish for everywhere. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back!

Beautiful campsite! The reception was excellent. We camped with a tent for three weeks on one of the terraced sites facing the sea and greatly appreciated the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities and the friendliness of the staff. We also really liked the pool area. The surroundings invite you to many excursions. There are also many beautiful and different beaches to discover nearby. The supermarket may be a bit more expensive, but it offers almost everything. That's very convenient.

We camped here at the end of October 2023 and we thought it was fantastic. Even though the site had a lot of people staying, we felt that we had our own space and we felt very private. The facilities were spotless and excellent. The little shop was useful (a bit pricy) and convenient. The grounds were well kept and the established trees and hedges were really pretty. The staff were really helpful and spoke Excellent English. We would definitely return.

The location and views are the best part of this campsite. We had a fantastic view of the sea from our pitch and were very near to one of the sets of steps going down to the little private coves.

It’s situated between Collioure and Argeles, both pleasant but very different towns. We accessed both by bike from the campsite. The campsite is well presented with a very professional welcome on arrival. We had one of the terraced sea facing pitches - stunning view to wake up to every morning. Washblocks clean and adequate. Some low key activities (yoga, stand up paddle etc) and a nice kids club. Not much in the way of evening entertainment. What makes this site is the 3 private coves - pebble beach (bring the river shoes!), fantastic snorkelling, few waves. We did sea kayaking around the coves but otherwise were happy relaxing and enjoying the beach and the pool. Very mixed nationality wise which we liked. We will return next year.

This is quite possibly the best campsite we as a family have pitched up at. For a site on the coast the pitch sizes were substantial. The site has two sides sloping down from a central flat ridge. One side, under lush green trees, provides spectacular views of the Pyrénées. Normally, if you were allocated a pitch with such a view you would be over the moon, however on the other side of the central ridge, it was like a completely different place, as every pitch has virtual unobstructed spectacular views of the Mediterranean in all its glory. In all cases, the ground is hard and dusty so make sure you bring rock pegs and various brushes for sweeping etc.

There is not much to add to the positive comments. Great! A bit negative: - Very small 2 pools for such a place, as it is 500 m to the beach. - Less suitable for RVs over 7m - Unfortunately, we only received a concrete pitch of 7.3x5.5m, just barely sufficient but worth 4.5 stars!

The reception was very friendly (in French, English, and German). We were shown around the area with a Caddy and allowed to choose a free plot. There is almost a sea view from everywhere on the terraces. The sanitary facilities are top-notch! The small supermarket has everything you need. However, the prices are quite steep. There is no free Wi-Fi. You can walk along the coast to the next village. It's a dreamy path if you have no fear of heights. 😉 Unfortunately, it was very windy during our stay. The noise from the many trees was enormous. That was actually quite disturbing. Since you can't do anything about the weather, I still give the site the full 5 stars!
