A massive wall has surrounded the centre since the 12th century. Inside, picturesque little alleyways await visitors. Walking through the Porte Saint-Vincent or the Rue de l'Orme, time seems to have stood still. The castle, which now houses the town hall, is an architectural gem in a class of its own. The impressive building also houses the city museum, which tells the story of 500 years of maritime history. The Saint-Vincent Cathedral, which is known for its colourful stained glass windows, is also breathtaking. San Malo is also known for its beautiful beaches. At the foot of the Corbières Park is the beach of the same name, which is perfect for sunbathing. The Plage du Mole is ideal for swimming. The beach faces west and is sheltered from the wind. It is located in the historic quarter and right next to the city wall. It is therefore also ideal for resting during a sightseeing tour.
