We used to always stay at the Campofelice next door. A big advantage of Lago Maggiore Camping: no reservation is needed, and you can get a spot even in high season. We were even able to choose. There were several nice spots available. The sanitary facilities are very good, modern, clean, and appealing. Access to the lake is nice with a sandy beach and sunbathing area. The available shaded stone tables for picnicking/playing are also great. The staff is very friendly. The only criticisms: the shop is totally overpriced, the bar at the beach is also too expensive, and the fitness room was small.

But: Small planes constantly take off from the nearby airfield. Additionally, helicopters circle overhead. The nearby road can also be heard on the Cali roof at night. And all this at Swiss prices. We stayed 2 nights at this site. The access to the site and especially the exit is an imposition. The assigned parking space was not as large as described. The friendly neighbor from Bern allowed us to stand 1 meter on his space. Here, only commercial interests prevail. How can you split up as many parking spaces as possible? Every franc counts here. We cannot comprehend where the 5 stars come from. You couldn't get rolls without ordering them in advance. Some might remain unsold and diminish the profit. The cleaning in the new washhouse left something to be desired. Hair in the drain in front of the showers is not our thing. We were traveling with a 9-meter camper. The only positive point was the restaurant with very friendly service and good food. We will not visit this site again. G and B O.
