Camping Club Lac du Salagou

We arrived a week before Easter. Upon arrival, we received a nice jute bag as a gift. When we checked in, we were given a small kit (with toilet paper, cleaning sponge, disinfectant and garbage bag). The very friendly and helpful women also spoke English. From some of the few plots, you can catch a glimpse of the Lac de Salagou. However, there is no real view of the lake. Instead, from many sites, you can enjoy a beautiful mountain panorama. The plots are spacious and separated by hedges. The front washhouse was heated. Everything is in cabins (toilet, shower, sink). You have to bring your own toilet paper and soap. Unfortunately, there are also no holders. The shower cabins were very narrow, and depending on the time of day, you experienced different shower temperatures. However, it was regularly cleaned. In another washhouse, there are 3 washing machines and a dryer. These can be used with card payment. We found that to be really convenient. The restaurant, as well as the shop, is run by a very friendly family (and their friends). We had very delicious meals here (gallets, burgers, pizzas, steak, appetizer plate, ice cream...) and also received great drinks (cocktails, red wine, draft beer...). The shop has gradually been stocked up. There is now everything for daily needs, tasty sausages and a selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The playground, multipurpose field, mini-golf, and table tennis tables can all be used. There is a rental of "pedal boats" (maybe others too?) on site. The pool was still closed. However, you could swim in the lake. Within walking distance, there is a marked place to put in your electric or wind-powered boat/board in the water (it's not really a slipway / motor boats are not allowed). A little further, you can rent boats (pedal boats, canoes, optimists...). Around the lake, there are many anglers, mountain biking trails, and also beautiful hiking routes. You are not allowed to grill with an open fire around the lake, and there are no barbecue stations (unlike what the ADAC states). We had a very nice time here. We can understand the 3.5 ADAC stars. To give a 4, the washhouse would have to improve a bit.
