September 2024
Visited for the umpteenth time. In the large square, at the beginning of September 2024, when in the surrounding area all the spots called indicated "fully booked", there were readily available spots. Staff at the reception very friendly, registration processes poorly organized. Nice sandy beach. Shops and restaurant also open in low season. Decent sanitary facilities, which are open, quite draughty when it's windy. Spacious, variably accessible pitches. Unusual after camping experiences of the last approximately 50 years in France: also in the low season, prepayment for the duration of stay is required.

We have now been to the site several times. We were always in the blue area "Jasmin". Sanitary facilities are simply kept in typical French style. Cleaning is okay, but unfortunately there are also campers here who don't hit the "hole". The pool area is very popular with both young and old with its slides. The beach is right in front of the site, gently sloping and also well suited for children. Price/performance is top (with ADAC card €18 per night)

I would like to start with the positives. The site is located directly on a beach, which is of course great. The sanitary facilities are thoroughly cleaned twice a day; however, there is no toilet paper available, which is unacceptable at this price. Now I come to the negative aspects. The pitches are very poorly arranged, some are lined up behind each other! There is no trace of family management; at the reception, which opens only at 9 AM, there is mass processing and unfriendly service. You have to pay in advance, and there is no refund for early departure. The supermarket is only suitable for the most necessary purchases. The biggest disadvantage of the site is the nightly noise disturbance, partly from the animation of another campground and from a public path to the beach. Every night, noisy youths pass through, having fun waking up the campers. On the beach, it is then celebrated loudly until 5 AM. Without earplugs, we wouldn't have been able to sleep a single night.

The place was for us the biggest disappointment on the French Mediterranean coast. Sanitary facilities, pool, parking spaces, paths, landscaping (if you can even call it that) ... everything was underground dirty, unkempt, broken. We left earlier and that was the best decision.

The campsite is nicely located and directly near the beach. The staff is mostly friendly and tries to help in German/English. The pitches are partly nicely situated; some also resemble chickens on a perch. Unfortunately, many mobile homes have been added recently. The beach is very nice, though it gets quite crowded in the summer. It becomes quieter if you move a bit away from the "campsite beach". Sanitary facilities are sufficiently available, not great, but not bad either. Sometimes you had to wait a bit for the showers, but that was okay. The pool is also very nice and is "supervised". Unfortunately, swim shorts and balls are a bigger problem than a nearly drowned child (who was then rescued by other campers). Unfortunately, there is a consistent maintenance backlog throughout the entire campsite. The pool has seen better days (risk of injury from broken tiles); the sanitary facilities are decaying. The electrical installation is partially quite "interesting" etc. Shopping facilities are partially accessible on foot. The campsite's own bakery is often "sold out". The evening program was French in 2018. As a non-French person, we didn't find it fun this year. In 2017, the evening program was significantly more international. Oh yes: bicycles can be rented on-site, and if you arrive in the middle of the night (03:00), you are allowed to sleep in the entrance area.

A wonderful spacious campsite with direct beach access not far from the city and yet a very pristine stretch of beach... Great slides for young and old.. good mobile homes and still enough space for campers! Very friendly staff, good sports facilities, pétanque court.

Music events within hearing distance. This mainly applies to the western part of the square. Unfortunately, these are not just music events but an all-day animation program at the *neighboring square*, which echoes loudly. Right at the western boundary of the square, there is a path used by day guests and the *neighboring square* to get to the beach. During the day, this is okay. However, at night, there are several groups, mainly French-speaking youths, who not only have to go to the beach in the middle of the night but do so while shouting loudly. Fortunately, there is a sufficient amount of delicious wine in the region to numb oneself beforehand. *Personal information deleted by the editorial team.

Gastronomic offers
Camping La Plage et du Bord de Mer is picturesquely situated in the Occitanie region of southern France, protected from the sea by a sea wall. Gourmets in particular appreciate the wide range of food and wine on offer at the campsite. Families feel just as at home here, as there is also an extensive leisure programme for children and parents can relax thanks to the professional entertainment team.
Camping La Plage et du Bord de Mer welcomes its guests with 408 parcelled pitches near Béziers, directly on the Mediterranean. The family-run site offers electricity on all pitches and has a few young trees on its flat grassy site. Communication with the service staff is easy, as they speak German and English as well as French. Children in particular will love the water park, with its pools and slides for splashing around and sporty swimming. The whole family can also keep fit with the wide range of sports on offer, including beach volleyball and tennis. Under the expert guidance of the entertainers, guests quickly master a wide variety of sports. In addition to physical exercise, enjoyment should not be neglected either. The campsite also knows how to impress in this area. The restaurant menu mainly includes Mediterranean dishes, with the fish and seafood specialities in particular being an absolute highlight. The campsite also has a snack bar, a cocktail bar and an ice cream stand to cater for all tastes. Those who prefer to cater for themselves on holiday will find all the necessary ingredients for a delicious meal in the resort's supermarket. To top it all off, weekly wine tastings are organised, where you can also purchase a good drop as a souvenir.
Without having to cross a road, guests can reach the sandy beach, which is up to 100 metres wide, via three different paths. An exceptionally attractive Mediterranean beach awaits them here, where the whole family can enjoy a wonderful summer holiday building sandcastles and splashing around in the water. Bicycles can be hired at the campsite to explore the region. Those who prefer to visit cultural sights will find a fascinating attraction in Béziers with the famous former Saint-Nazaire Cathedral, which catches the eye from afar on the approach to Camping La Plage et du Bord de Mer. Due to its dominant position on a rock in the Orb valley and its fortress-like construction in Baroque style, it is considered a landmark of the town. The Fonserannes lock staircase on the Canal du Midi is another highlight in Béziers and impresses technology enthusiasts in particular.
