Site with Dreamy Ocean View
Very good8
Nicole
We stumbled upon this site during a tour of Spain at the beginning of October. If you are lucky enough to get one of the coveted, dreamy spots with a view of the Atlantic, the site is a dream. We had chosen a spot before check-in. This doesn’t seem to be normal. Normally, you are brought up and placed by the site attendant without any choice. If you’re unlucky, you end up on the back side with a view of the forest. The access to the site is quite challenging. After the highway exit, you travel down a narrow, winding road with few passing opportunities to reach the site. The access to the site itself is very steep. There is a towing aid for caravans, which we would definitely use next time. The sanitary facilities are very old and basic. They are cleaned all day, but we still didn’t find them really clean. There is practically no privacy there. In front of the toilets and showers, there is a kind of salon door that you can see through both from above and below. In the showers, there are no hooks or anything to place your belongings. These are in the hallway in front of the shower where you then undress. The view compensates for this, however. All in all, we felt very comfortable and have only stood so dreamily three times in our 25 years of camper life as we did at this site.

Dreamily located, if the access wasn't so difficult, but there is towing assistance, which worked well for us!

A very special, great place

We spent 2 days here on a tour of Spain in mid-June. Friendly reception. The guide suggested a pitch according to our wishes and escorted us there. Great. In June, there was still a wide selection of "balkonplätze" on the cliff (suited for tents, vans, or trailers/motorhomes) with a far view over the sea/the bay available for every newcomer. A fantastic spot – there are very few comparable places across Europe. Swimming was completely independent of the tides. However, at high tide, there is no sandy beach left in the bay. The sanitary facilities were functional and nothing to complain about. A simple restaurant above the cliff with a view of the rocky coast and the bay. They also have fresh bread all day long. The offered hake at a fair price is a recommendation. The 5 stars for this place are mainly due to its extraordinarily beautiful location. Anyone traveling in the region should not miss this place.

I have probably been to 20 different places, but this place is a dream. Everything is clean and okay. However, one should not come here in the high season. It is probably completely overcrowded.

Beautiful view, well-maintained site

We stayed (unfortunately only) for one night there and we had a dream view over the bay! Beach reachable in 5 minutes on foot, the sanitary facilities were simple but clean and well-maintained. The supermarket had a somewhat meager selection. We cannot say anything about the restaurant. The place was quite steep on the slope, but the pitches were fairly flat.

Beautiful pictures, but ...

If pictures can deceive, then in this case. We made a reservation on-site a week in advance in August 2018 and got a spot "in the dark hole" because supposedly there were no spots available for campers. In this part of the camping site (which doesn't appear on the website), there's nothing but bad sanitation, stench, and a loud generator. And this for €50! Almost all the nice spots with a view of the sea are in the hands of permanent campers. If you are camping with a tent, this can be a dream, but with a camper, please stay away. Very, very unfortunate. The family next to us with a caravan waited 1.5 weeks in the "hole" until they got a spot with minimal sea view through two campers. The sandy beach is small, and you can find exactly this type of beach all along the coast. Therefore, that's not an argument for the high price, just like the unfriendly people at the reception.
