Camping La Forêt (Jumièges)
Campsite Overview

Campsite Intro
About
Situated on the edge of a forest in beautiful natural surroundings, Camping La Forêt welcomes its camping guests. The pitches are located on a grassy area, with numerous hedges and trees structuring the site and providing plenty of shade. Here, campers can enjoy a relaxing holiday in the heart of Normandy - ideal for exploring the beautiful region. The city of Rouen is particularly worth a visit, with its impressive medieval buildings and Gothic churches. But there is also plenty to discover in Jumièges - it is not for nothing that this town is nicknamed the "most beautiful ruin in France". The first Romanesque buildings can be admired here.

Pros
The proximity to the services offered. A campground of a human scale. Location/Rental accommodation: The pitches are not sufficiently delineated from each other, despite the presence of a hedge that is not thick enough.
Cons
Swimming pool, the capacity is very limited. Wading pool, the water is freezing cold and not suitable for toddlers.

Pros
The location Site/Accommodation: Spot
Cons
Site/Accommodation: Spot is dirty and battered with a view of a plastic tarp and garden debris behind it. Water point too far away. The sanitary facilities, the reception building, the pool... are outdated. Everything needs to be redone, not to mention the dining options, which are disgusting, a pile of dirty rags in a sink, and I won't get into the rest. All this is nauseating! The management has not understood what camping is. What a shame considering all that is around. Best regards Herve Dessoude

Pros
We stayed here 3 nights as a stopover campsite. The spot was large, with trees all around. The reception was good and friendly. Beautiful surroundings Standplaats/Huuraccommodatie: Large spot, plenty of shade.
Cons
Only 1 sanitary building with 8 toilets for the entire campsite. These were not very clean. No possibility to dry hands, so everything stays wet. On the other side of the toilets are the showers, here you can smell the toilets. The pool is okay, but very primitive. Standplaats/Huuraccommodatie: Water did not drain well.

Pros
the lady at the reception and the large trees. Location/Accommodation: the shaded site sheltered by trees that are certainly centuries old.
Cons
We went to the bar both nights, the service was okay, but there was a downside due to the tables not being cleaned. Location/Accommodation: the electricity was included in the price even though we didn’t use it (very distant connection).

Pros
The Abbey of Jumieges, its shop, the bar-restaurant La Petite Flamme, and the ferry of Jumieges all brought us joy. Location/Rental Accommodation: Quiet and shaded location, good sanitary facilities.
Cons
The bus service to Rouen had been canceled, so we couldn't visit. Location/Rental Accommodation: The reception directed us to a spot that was almost a construction site after a pit had been dug to install a post. Fortunately, the spot across the way was also free.
