The campsite is simply amazing! We spent another weekend there and had a fantastic time relaxing! The site has volleyball, basketball, a playground, and table tennis. Just a few meters away is a lovely lake with pedal boat rentals, perfect for paddleboarding. Right next to the lake is a great restaurant with delicious cakes. There is also a playground and mini-golf right there. Next to the campsite, there's a small museum and opportunities to swim in the river. The only downside is the sometimes very old and dark washhouses. In the new washroom, the children’s shower is incredibly difficult to operate (even for adults). The site is well-vegetated and has a superb location! On the site, there's also a small kiosk selling rolls, drinks, and snacks, a vending machine with grill meat and sausages, a coffee machine, and an Italian restaurant. Nearby excursion destination: Dinopark.

The Kratzmühle campsite has been one of our favorite spots for years, we go there at least once a year as local holidaymakers. The two bathrooms in the main area are aging, and the back washroom in the tent area is unfortunately outdated. Otherwise, the site is wonderfully located, and the people there are very friendly. We always try to secure a pitch by the river. We love the tranquility there, the wonderful scenery, and a bike trip to Beilngries is beautiful, it’s a lovely little lively spot. Continuing on to Plankstetten or Dietfurt is a dream. I can recommend the place 100%, aside from the limitation of the old bathrooms. The children’s area has a brand new bathroom. We were there twice in 2025.

We were there 14 days ago on the return trip, the sanitary facilities looked neglected and outdated. Otherwise certainly okay.

Beautifully located place. Unfortunately, relatively small pitches. The rear sanitary building with three toilets and two showers is a disaster. The adjacent lake is great for swimming, but not suitable for dog owners. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The pitches are relatively small, we had one directly by the Altmühl, many shaded spots, no individual water connections. What I did not like at all, but the campsite cannot be blamed for, is that dogs are not allowed to walk around the lake, meaning you can only go for a short walk in either direction. Otherwise, it is very nice for hiking and of course cycling. The sanitary facilities are relatively new and very clean. You could always see a good soul cleaning or weeding somewhere. The reception is very friendly, the shop only offers the bare essentials, but there is a bread roll service.

The parking spot right by the Altmühl is beautiful. The restaurant has very delicious pizza. However, we have to deduct one point: It is very strange here that the quiet hours from 1 PM to 3 PM are apparently sacred and the fundamental right to freedom of movement is suspended during this time: You cannot leave the site by car during this time. But from 3 PM onwards, you can go out again. Justification for this measure: It is the same in Italy. However, there is an emergency button. Unfortunately, we did not see that.

We felt very comfortable at the site. Friendly reception at the front desk, very clean sanitary facilities. The parking space was not very large, but sufficient for a few days. At the moment there is construction at the entrance, but the noise disturbance was bearable. The proximity to the beautiful lake is ideal for stand-up paddling. We would love to come back.
