Beautifully located but unkempt
We were there 14 days ago on the return trip, the sanitary facilities looked neglected and outdated. Otherwise certainly okay.

Beautifully situated campsite directly at the Altmühl
The pitches are relatively small, we had one directly by the Altmühl, many shaded spots, no individual water connections. What I did not like at all, but the campsite cannot be blamed for, is that dogs are not allowed to walk around the lake, meaning you can only go for a short walk in either direct… More

Really very unfortunate as the place is wonderfully located! But just dirty. The pitches in the upper area are not mowed, oh well. Camping During the Corona Time
The campsite is okay. The pitches are somewhat small, and unfortunately, our reservation did not work out despite us making a deposit. Well, it wasn't that bad.

Surrounded by densely wooded hills, Camping Kratzmühle nestles on the predominantly natural banks of the Altmühl. It is a popular destination for active holidaymakers. The calmly flowing river is ideal for boat trips through picturesque natural landscapes. There is a canoe hire service on site, which also organises transfer services. Another highlight of the Kratzmühle campsite is the Kratzmühlsee lake, which is just 100 metres away. Lush green sunbathing lawns and shady trees surround the shimmering blue waters. Even small children can splash around happily in the shallow bathing areas with soft sandy beaches. For even more water fun, guests can paddle across the crystal-clear bathing lake in pedal boats and rowing boats. Fishing fans will find idyllic stretches of shore where many fish can be found.

Camping Kratzmühle is located between Pfraundorf and Irfersdorf in the beautiful Altmühltal valley in the centre of Bavaria.
