Camping Kovačine

The site is beautifully designed, with plenty of greenery and well-maintained landscaping. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but were regularly cleaned during our stay and were kept clean. The dog beach seemed clearly too small for the number of guests and consequently very crowded. Those traveling with a dog should take this into account when booking. We noticed that many E-bikes and E-scooters were sometimes riding at an excessively high speed across the site. During our stay, we witnessed an accident that we consider serious. Therefore, we would have preferred to see more visible presence of the staff and a stricter enforcement of the existing rules. There is still significant room for improvement regarding tranquility, gastronomy, and shopping opportunities.

Check-in, thanks to the online check-in, was super easy and relaxed, everything went very quickly. No waiting times, despite the high season, on Saturday around 6 PM. Everything was very clean, especially the sanitary facilities were top-notch. No matter when you arrive, everything is always in perfect order! Huge applause to the cleaning staff! Our spot was nice, framed by hedges (oleander). The entire site is beautifully landscaped with greenery. Everything is very green with many pines, olive trees, oleander bushes, fig trees, ... Huge lot with wide paths. The only negative: Near our spot, there was no water and electricity connection nearby. You needed at least a 20-meter hose and power cable! (!!This should definitely be pointed out!!). You had to crawl through a small hole in the hedge to get to the nearest water and power distributor. This is surprising for a premium Superior site.

Extreme wedges are needed for the often rocky and sloped terrain! It would be best to have a hammer drill for setting up stakes!

Unfortunately, there are now too many dogs on the campsite. Many campers have not just one, but several dogs with them.

This campsite is beautiful! I have been going to Kovacine for three years, twice a year. We feel very comfortable there, the island of Cres is simply a dream. We will be going back soon.

Actually our favorite place for years, but now no longer relaxing. Already early in the morning the barking of dogs starts and continues until late in the evening. Unfortunately, the owners do not intervene. Up to 4 dogs per pitch. Although there is a private dog beach, the animals are also often sent to the other beach sections (forbidden for dogs) to swim in the sea. Already early in the morning, the first campers head out to secure the best spots (on the unfortunately very narrow beach in the nudist area) with their sunbeds. The staff is very friendly, the restrooms are very well maintained and cleaned regularly.

It was okay! However, there are definitely many better alternatives. No lighting on the paths at night! Toilets and showers quite old and outside.

It was sometimes very loud late into the night. Also, in the morning from 7 am, some people thought they were alone in the area. The beach is far too narrow. In the morning, everyone rushed out to secure spots on the beach with loungers and towels. Generally, there is a constant crowd all day long on the site. Furthermore, there are speeding cyclists, scooters, cars, and a speeding little train. It's a miracle that nothing worse happened. The dog beach is far too small and narrow. We as dog owners often shook our heads at other dog owners. Barking, roaming dogs. Waste is simply left behind. There is a dog run, but no walking round. Staff nowhere to be seen. 3 stars, because the sanitary facilities were very clean. The promenade to the next village was nice. We cannot understand the good reviews and left earlier.
