Camping Königstein

The place has been ideal for us for years for short trips! A lot has changed. For example, the self-check-in and check-out at the machine. Once you get the hang of it, it’s quite good. However, it would be advisable for an employee to be available for questions! We often saw how vacationers struggled with it. In fact, 3 campers left during this time... Sometimes there was a staff member there, but not always. It can’t have been due to a lack of staff. In the small store, there were sometimes 3 employees (and they were having fun, which you can wish for them, but not during peak hours!). The young lady "tries" to be friendly. Unfortunately, she can also be very cynical! We noticed this not just once!

By today's standards, the campsite is very poor, the prices are high, and there is a lot of noise from trains.

Great spot right on the Elbe. Reception was anything but friendly, ☹️. Croissants in the morning were excellent 👌. Top starting point for hikes in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

It's a shame to experience something like this in such a beautiful area! The pitch was similar to a parking lot outside the camping site and was labeled as "Premium"! Sanitary facilities were very far away and, in my opinion, far too small for the size of the site! When we complained to management, we only received arrogant dismissals! Conclusion for us... Rip-off and not recommendable!

The campsite is located directly on the banks of the Elbe and is a convenient starting point for excursions to numerous sights and hiking destinations. The sanitary facilities were always clean, but the shower heads are now quite calcified. At night, some trains passed by, making the nights not very restful. Otherwise, it is a beautiful campsite.

The campsite has a nice location and a great view of the Elbe. From here, you can hike and cycle very well. The facility looks well maintained. The showers urgently need to be updated; at least new showerheads would be nice. In the toilets, there are currently many spider webs that have been there for a week. Additionally, there are many small fruit flies in the washrooms. Otherwise, the toilets are clean. Unfortunately, card payment did not work upon departure and we had to drive extra to get cash, as it was not possible to transfer the remaining amount.

During check-in, it is explained where you are allowed to stand and where not. It is a bit complicated as there are different areas and several heights. We believed we had understood the ranger correctly and parked our camper in a spot without a reservation sign. After a short time, he came to us angrily and immediately accused us of having done it intentionally. Even after we assured him several times that it was a mistake and that we were ready to move, he insisted that we had intentionally occupied the reserved spot. Anyone who treats people like that should change professions.
