You can discover the mighty volcano Etna or the wild and romantic gorges of Alcantara on guided excursions in the surrounding area.

For cyclists, the route along the attractive promenade to Catania's old town is ideal. This is home to numerous historical buildings, including the Roman amphitheatre from the 2nd century. Also worth seeing is the Cathedral of Sant'Agata, which presents itself in a magnificent Baroque style. The Castello Ursino from the 13th century impresses with its integrated museum. This contains an extensive collection of works of art from antiquity to the present day as well as numerous sculptures and bronze works.
