A beautiful nature-preserved campsite, only 50 meters from the beach and in an hour, you can be in the city by bus and metro. If you want to have a great tour of Rome, you are in the right place; every evening there is a German-speaking tour guide (City-guide-rom), ask at the reception for Frank, who will introduce you to Rome in a day in a completely relaxed way. I can't say anything negative about the campsite, except for the streets that belong to the city of Rome, which are like the traffic itself a bit of an adjustment.

Quick check-in, Friendly and good communication in German possible. Natural, the sanitary facilities are very basic and rather old-fashioned but okay. No hot water in the dishwashing area. Electricity max 3A, so cooking for yourself is very difficult. Beach easily accessible, but clean is another matter.

For a night if you like loud streets, it's ok. The public beach is very small and dirty.

The campsite is large and spacious with tall trees and many shaded areas. The sanitary facilities are not new, but they are completely fine and clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The price-performance ratio is really excellent. The food in the restaurant, although limited in selection (especially with vegetarian dishes!), was very tasty. We really liked the playground by the restaurant. The highway behind the campsite is acceptable, but can be somewhat annoying over time. The flight noise is negligible. The prostitutes criticized in many reviews were hardly noticeable. The beach is great, although a bit littered in some places, but clean with fine sand near the shore. A downside for us - biking with children is hardly possible. Too much traffic, bike paths only exist in Ostia. It takes 1.5 hours by bus to get to Rome, and 1 hour by car. It takes about 20 minutes by car to Ostia Antica, and 30 minutes by bus. We were there with 3 children (ages 1, 4, and 12) and a caravan.

Sanitary facilities were, although a bit dated, completely fine and always clean. Showers could be more than decent with hot water and proper booth size. Adjacent street audible during night hours but not disturbing. The beach is publicly accessible. For those wanting to go to Rome, buses and trains are very well connected, but you should expect about 1.5 hours of travel time to the Colosseum station. The cost for a one-way ticket is currently Euro 1.50 per person, a day ticket is Euro 7.00, making it very affordable. If you want to see Rome at night, you have to call a taxi or drive yourself. If we go to Rome with the camper again, it will definitely be to this campsite.

So it's perfect for a sightseeing tour of Rome! Right outside the city gates and the sea at your doorstep. Only the facility itself has seen better days.

Apparently, nothing has been invested for years. The food in the restaurant is very expensive and rather unloving (burger without a bun, just meat with fries for €14). Not for us anymore.
