Camping Il Veliero

Since there are few reviews about the site, here is our experience report. We, 2 adults and 2 children (3+9 years old) are on vacation here for 2 weeks. The site has many equipped pitches with a kitchen and a bathroom. It's not luxurious, but it's great to have your own bathroom. The bathroom is functional and not very large, but it is only used by your own family. We ended up using our own dishes, but you don’t have to run around to wash them. The hot plates work, and you don’t have to use your own kitchen. A big drawback... you are not allowed to grill with gas, and therefore cannot cook with gas outdoors. We were reprimanded on the very first evening. So the grill went back in. Luckily, there was the kitchen, so we just used a pan. The car is not allowed on the pitch, but the parking spaces for cars are inside the site, mostly right across from the pitch. Still... the pitch itself is good. The campsite itself has a small minimarket with the essentials, and there are also paninis and bread available. So that’s fine as well. The pools are very clean, but swimming caps are mandatory, as in most places in Italy. The service is very friendly. And the restaurant is really great, not the typical "German" Italian food like above at the Adriatic. And speaking of... anyone expecting a 5-star campsite like the one above at the Adriatic is out of place. It's a site that has an excellent location for beach and excursions. It's about 700m away from the beach, but with a bike and trailer, it’s no problem. And the beach is amazing. Few people and sandy beach with shallow water, great for kids. Oh, one more thing. The site is firmly in Italian hands. Few to no Germans... All in all, I can recommend the site for regular campers and not luxury campers....

According to the website open year-round, only to be disappointed on site: space closed!
