Campsite Intro

In the middle of the green Veio Park with unspoilt nature, the Happy Village Roma campsite invites you to relax on the outskirts of the Eternal City. The terraced campsite boasts numerous pitches for motorhomes and caravans, bungalows and natural shade. A heated sanitary area in winter allows free showers with hot water all year round. Extensive services such as children's bathrooms and changing tables are also available for families. For day trips to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps, guests can use the free shuttle service to the Prima Porta rapid transit station. After visiting the many highlights of Rome, you can refresh yourself in the two pools, relax on a lounger or enjoy a stone-oven pizza in the bar-restaurant on the panoramic terrace.

Sufficient for a visit to Rome

The campsite and the sanitary buildings are already quite old. There is no toilet paper and no toilet seats. Be careful with the pitches near the restaurant, it can get a bit louder. The free shuttle bus worked well for us. The public transport worked well, to and from Rome. Regarding the restaurant, the service was very curt and not particularly attentive, the food was not to our taste and not worth the price in our opinion.

Well located for visiting Rome

Very good8

The campsite has a good location for visiting Rome, friendly management. The pool is great for refreshing oneself after a long day in Rome in the evening, provided you are back before 7 PM. The sanitary facilities are good and clean. The restaurant is nicely laid out and makes a good impression. The site is beautifully arranged. Caution, the pitches are very tightly planned. There are few spots available if you arrive with a camper larger than 6.5m. A word about the way to Rome. The campsite shuttle runs a bit as it pleases. Sometimes 15 minutes ahead of schedule (which is annoying), sometimes 15 minutes later (not so tragic), and not very frequently. Also, the bus of line 303 to the train station (stop about 500m in front of the campsite gate) does not run on Sundays at all. So be careful on Sundays, as you might miss the last campsite shuttle on your way back. Otherwise, you have to walk 4.5 km.

For trips to Rome, this campsite is completely sufficient, as one generally spends the day in the city. The campsite offers a shuttle service to the nearest train station, which is very convenient for getting into the city. The campsite itself did not quite convince us; the sanitary facilities urgently need to be updated. The supermarket offers only a very limited number of products. The available pitches are somewhat too small for motorhomes. The price for this pitch was very favorable with the ADAC camping card.

Relatively large area in front of the gates of Rome. Many shady, large parking spaces. Free choice of seating. Street and animal shelter within hearing distance, but can be blocked out. Very numerous sanitary facilities, unfortunately, they are already aging. The biggest drawback: No toilet paper and no soap in the toilets. The cleaning of the toilets was also rather borderline. Nice restaurant, but rather expensive. Two small clean pools with free loungers. A constant shuttle bus from the campsite to the train station Prima Porta. From there, it costs 1.50€ per person directly to downtown Rome. Perfect for day trips to Rome. Despite the high season, however, there were relatively few guests there. We looked at another place nearby, but this one was still ahead in comparison. The value for money due to the proximity to the city is okay. If more attention were paid to the sanitary facilities, this would be a great starting point for trips to Rome.
