Whoever comes here seeks relaxation, recreation, and a place right in the nature of the Harz. When you come here, you will get all that. On top of that, you can also enjoy the dam, the Odertalsperre near Bad Lauterberg, where you can bathe and swim. Sailing, stand-up paddling, boating, or fishing is also possible with your private equipment. As a camper, you don't pay anything extra; visitors/hikers pay a small fee at the registration. This is also a starting point for bike tours, hikes, or walks. You can even make a small campfire here (of course, only with the appropriate forest fire level). Where else can you find that? You get a real adventure feeling. Complainers please stay away!

This campsite is so outdated that a demolition and a new installation are the only worthwhile options. The pitches are arranged in a terraced manner. Electricity is drawn from an old distribution box. Water supply and sewage disposal are nonexistent. For this, one has to take the steep path from the parcel towards the reception (a small cabin) and then walk to the sanitary building. Quickly fetching water (of course with a jug) is not possible. And when the water tank is quite empty, then good luck walking. The access roads to the pitches are dilapidated, broken, and slippery. A car with a 1500kg trailer would hardly make it up the slope without all-wheel drive and enough horsepower. Now, let's talk about the sanitary building. It is located in the middle of the woods on a hill (you have to climb stairs). The toilets are anything but appealing. The so-called restaurant and a kiosk are closed. Apparently, they haven't been open for quite some time, probably several years. Demolition is more worthwhile here. The only nice thing about this campsite is the absolute peace and the tent sites. They are separate from the pitches in the woods, with partial views of the reservoir. Partially because, although it is supposed to be a nature campsite, a bit of clearing is more than necessary. Access to the reservoir is either through the campsite, or you can take a footpath down to the water. On the campsite side, there is no lawn or anything like that. Just stones; sometimes big, sometimes small. So, if you are looking for an adventure holiday and traveling with a tent, with no expectations for cleanliness or similar, then you are in the right place.
