This campsite gets 1 star for its location by the sea, the little town of Fano, and the quite friendly staff. Right by the site runs the main railway line between Ancona and Venice with 24-hour train traffic, and at night freight trains. On the site itself, approximately 90% of the campers are Italian residents who do not wish to make any contact with tourists, or so it seems. The sanitary facilities, showers, toilets, and even the dishwashing areas are in a catastrophic state. The cleaning teams come once early in the morning, spray with a hose, and so the outdated toilets and showers remain underwater for the rest of the day. It's simply disgusting what one finds there. One might spend 1 night here on the way to the south or Ancona (ferry to Greece), but not more.

We took a break here for the second time for a few quiet days in September. You stand at the entrance of the site at the beach (coarse gravel and not so great; a bit of sandy beach towards the middle of the site) in a section without permanent campers. Everything the restaurant offers can also be pre-ordered for takeout (which we preferred). The sanitation in this section is completely okay. A stroll through Fano is always worth it. The active train traffic did not disturb us at night (we had a good sleep).
