Camping Family Gjirokaster

Great place, top sanitary facilities, very nice operators, very good kitchen. I can only recommend it, city sightseeing from here is no problem.

Great campsite with very friendly, accommodating owner, extremely clean sanitary facilities, and a cozy, excellent, affordable restaurant. The pitches are narrow but on gravel and completely level. Ideal if you want to go out during the day and come back in the evening. I will come back.

Well-located place for walking tours in Gjirokaster. Clean. Good kitchen. Friendly hostess. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response to my inquiry emails beforehand... in hindsight in April it was no problem.

We rarely came across such a well-maintained and well-organized campsite. Starting with the very friendly welcome, the opportunity to choose our own spot, and the really unbelievably clean and modern sanitary facilities. Even the washing machine is included in the reasonable price of €20 including electricity. Everything is designed very friendly. There is an organized shuttle service to the center of Gjirokaster and back. The restaurant is top-notch. Very, very delicious dishes. This campsite is really a successful family business. We would love to come back.

I think this is the ideal place to see Gjirokastra, Small gravel pitches, electricity, possibility to drain grey water. The sanitary facilities are clean, 2 toilets each for men and women is a bit few. Nice restaurant, friendly operators. Overall, a decent place for Albania.

I must first confess that I'm a bit annoyed with myself. This was the first campsite I targeted in Albania. I had not internalized the exchange rate yet. But from the beginning: I arrived just before 6 PM with my VW van and trailer. I had chosen the site because it had good reviews and wasn't located on a main road. I was greeted with the information that they were fully booked. There were already numerous vehicles parked in the entrance area in not exactly the best spots. As I was about to get back in, they asked me if I could manage to park on the edge here and place the trailer on the other side. I agreed. Then she said: "Okay, twenty-five - do you need electricity?" No, I didn't need it. Without knowing exactly which currency she meant, I looked forward to the shower after the long drive. Sanitary facilities of the finest quality. Checkout the next morning: I was asked for €20 or 2200 LEK and a great review on a well-known portal for campers. Card payment was not possible (the device was defective). Then I thought: Okay, probably just €20 without electricity, which I find quite sporty despite the trailer for a person on an emergency site, where there was also no Wi-Fi reception. There was no invoice for that. When I had paid and was packing up, the manager came running and complained that we had agreed yesterday that I would pay €25. My comment that I didn’t have electricity was noted but not considered. So I was seriously asked for another €5. The family of four (!) with a Jeep and camper setup next to me had paid €20. My conclusion: Despite the great sanitary facilities, I didn't feel like a guest but rather like a currency transfer object. Of course, supply and demand determine the price. However, whether one has to squeeze out the maximum price for a second-rate emergency parking space is something I question and it says something about the operator.
