Camping Eldorado (Badacsony)

It was supposed to be a short stay. In the end, we stayed 14 days at the campsite! Super friendly, helpful staff! The daily breakfast reminded us of a hotel! Every wish was fulfilled. The staff greeted the German guests in German. However, they hardly made an effort to respond in Hungarian. What a pity! Out of respect and appreciation for the host, one should do this. The price-performance ratio is fine. Pool is always clean and nice and cool. Access to Balaton via a pier, but no firm ground, rather muddy. Toilets are cleaned several times a day. Restaurant is good, shop with the essentials, cold drinks, and also ice cream. Fresh rolls in the shop in the morning and also a bakery van in the morning. Washing machine and dryer each 2500 Forint (1€=390 Forint) for one load. (5kg) Washing, washing facility for hand laundry. Train station and bus stop directly nearby. About 200-250m. Walking is possible. Cycle path not far away, to circle around Lake Balaton. Tapolca, Keszthely, Badacsony close by. Crowd is well mixed. Hungarians, Austrians, Germans, Poles, Dutch. We had a nice time. Even without a reservation, there was something to get. My expectations aren't that high, so for us it's great.

Beautiful place, partially renovated sanitary facilities, clean, very friendly service. Super restaurant, great breakfast buffet, included in the price during the off-season.

The site is located directly by the lake and has partly separated pitches by hedges, as well as nice shore areas. The staff (including in the restaurant) were very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities were simple and both they and the restaurant area need renovation. The cleanliness was good. The free breakfast buffet (included in the site fee) in the low season was good, plentiful, and varied.

We had a nice spot, located right by the lake. We enjoyed the 'free breakfast'... The site is ideal if you want to bike around the lake, like we did. The only downside: if you want to go into the water, you must absolutely use the wooden walkways. Otherwise, you'll sink into the mud... Price for 2 adults including electricity from 14th to 18th September 2021: €132.

Very good campsite, good catering, clean sanitary facilities

Very unkempt place. Totally outdated and not clean sanitary facilities with unpleasant odors. HOW DID THIS CAMPSITE END UP ON THE ADAC LIST? ... and the walkways are rotten.

First of all, the positives. Beautiful location by Lake Balaton, friendly staff, guarded area, and always clean sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, from our perspective, the negative experiences outweigh the positives, but we were also here with 2 small children. Negatives: no shopping opportunities or bread service on site or in the immediate vicinity (although this is advertised). This means always driving, even though we wanted to leave the car behind. The expensive sites by the shore are smaller than those in the middle and without Wi-Fi reception (which is of course negligible but good for business). The water is only heated by solar - sometimes sufficient for showering - but definitely too cold for washing dishes! There is practically no bathing beach, only 2 docks for boats or fishermen; the water is so overgrown that it is not suitable for swimming. The cooking facility is highly dangerous - it consists of a double hot plate which can only be turned off by pulling the plug. There is a nice pool on site with a large sunbathing area. Unfortunately, the filter system only works sporadically (it was completely off during lunchtime) and the water slide was not in service during our time (even though the option was available) so the children always got stuck. Our conclusion: all in all not so bad, but the site does not match the advertising promise and at about 50€ per day, it is also not a budget option. Still, a holiday by Lake Balaton comes with our absolute recommendation!! Very beautiful landscape with a pleasant climate, the prices are (still) affordable - not cheap!
