Camping du Pont d'Avignon

The location and plots are very good, but the sanitary facilities are really outdated. The showers provide only lukewarm water, the toilets are clean, but that's probably because no one uses them. No toilet seats and no toilet paper.

Great place. The staff is super nice and helpful. Ideal location for sightseeing, cycling, or hiking. The very outdated sanitary facilities take some getting used to. Something really needs to be done about this.

The location of the site is the main advantage of the facility (about 1.5 km to the center on foot or by bike). However, maintenance leaves much to be desired. Rain-related mud on the paths, which is also brought into the sanitary area, could be reduced by gravel in the critical spots. In the evening and at night, the lighting in the area of the pitches remained off. On my first visit to the "Pont d'Avignon" campsite in 1975, the sanitary facilities were quite advanced. Unfortunately, they seem not to have progressed. Non-adjustable hot water at the sinks and in the showers is no longer up to date in this century. With nighttime outdoor temperatures of around 10°C, a closed and heated sanitary block would be desirable.

First off: No, this is not a luxury spot for luxury vehicles. But a solid spot to explore Avignon and Provence. The site has plenty of old trees, which makes it very shady and thus quite pleasant in August. The pool is great. The sanitary facilities are very basic, typically French, but were clean for me despite the high season. The market has a clear offering (but the town is only a stone's throw away), the baguette is excellent! The crowd is very mixed in terms of age, families/couples/solo travelers, tents/vans/RVs/caravans and country plates. Despite the location being very close to the city, surprisingly quiet, the loudest sounds were the trees in the wind. And also friendly staff... I felt very comfortable!

The location is very good. By ferry or across the bridge, the old town is easily reachable on foot.

Space suitable for city sightseeing or a stopover. Sanitary facilities leave much to be desired. Water for the shower is way too hot and not adjustable.

We stayed for two days to rest from the long drive, and for that purpose, the place is very nicely located. The staff was very friendly and helpful. (I had a breakdown with my caravan) They were very eager to assist me and called the surrounding workshops for me to describe the problem in French. Unfortunately, I cannot write much good about the place. In one of the washrooms, the water pressure is lower than in a remote African village. Three shower stalls share a 60-watt light bulb, and this is still placed in front of the door, so that after dark, there is only very sparse lighting. The washrooms themselves are from the 70s, and I doubt there has been any investment here in recent years. At the entrance, there is a sign advertising a four-star campsite. Probably also from 1970.
