Camping on the Traffic Island

June 2019

That was a flop. Much too loud. On one side, the train is constantly running, and on the other side, the expressway runs alongside. Shady and dark, so the tent skin cannot dry. Much too expensive for what is offered. Take a deep breath on the bridge to the site, as there is a risk of falling with the rig. Unfriendly reception, and in the worst case, could be described as businesslike.

A visually very beautifully located place with a view of a cute little river on one side and rugged rock formations on the other. Nice reception from the operator who speaks very good German. Unfortunately, the noise level from the roads and railway line is annoying - starting at 6 a.m., the commuter traffic forces you to close the windows. Additionally, there was party noise from the neighboring festival hall in the evening until late at night. The sanitary facilities are good, and there is a bakery service. Unfortunately for us, it is only suitable for a stopover, because the acoustic impression greatly disturbs the visual one.

The campsite is located in a beautiful setting between a creek and the canal. Sure, you can hear the country road that runs 50 meters beside it, as well as the railway... but in my opinion, that's within an acceptable range. The campsite operators are very friendly. The communication in advance for the campsite reservation was excellent! We have 4 dogs. This was no problem here. The walking path along the canal is ideal. The dogs can also go directly into the crystal-clear creek from the campsite. It's perfect for walking and cycling. The nature in the surroundings is wonderful. The prices are a dream. You can pre-order baguettes, etc. at the reception at a low price. Unfortunately, the swimming pool is only filled during the French holidays. Shopping facilities are about 7 km away. We will be coming here more often for short trips :-)
