We stayed there for 4 days and were surprised by the beautiful place on the peninsula. Well-maintained wash and toilet facilities, as these can only be accessed with an entry card, where the credit for the showers is also registered. Friendly camping neighbors, helpful. The team at Doktorsee Camp is very helpful and friendly. All in all, we will come back.

Dog-Friendly Campsite

While passing through on our way to the Netherlands, we booked the spot for 2 days at short notice. The service and the location by the Weser are very nice. We also visited Hameln and the town of Rinteln. The site has a large number of permanent campers. All the pitches for the parking of caravans are spacious, so there is also enough room for the vehicles next to them.

Unfortunately, the potential is not fully utilized

We have been there 2 times now. Actually a nice place. But there is a downside for showers, only with coins. This should actually be included in the pricing. During our first stay, our dog was attacked out of the blue by a staff member's dog. During our current stay, the credit card payment was refused due to additional fees. Very unfortunate. In the sanitary building in our area, there were only two showers and a single sink. Luckily, the place was not fully occupied. Overall, there is still room for improvement.

I have never seen so many neglected permanent camper sites

Hello, who doesn't enjoy strolling around the campground to see how beautiful and lovingly most permanent campers have designed their sites, as this often leads to conversations and meeting new people. I would say that the rudeness (being insulted for no reason) is also reflected in the plots, neglected, run down, and littered. I have never been so shocked by a campground, with the charm of a problem district with a 4.5-star rating. Never again.

Not recommended: Permanent campers form a primitive clientele

August 2024

The clientele of permanent campers is off-putting. Broken, dilapidated caravans, poorly maintained plots - elsewhere you would be kicked out. Anti-social language, constantly watching, just a place you only know from horror TV shows, but not accepted by normally situated individuals! Camping here is practiced by permanent campers because nothing else is financially possible! Sanitary facilities on the site smell bad, but in house 3 they were good, as they are still relatively new, and it is strongly advised to take care of oneself, as they are separate enclosed rooms.

Good Place

The place is huge, almost 2 kilometers from the pitch to the reception. Incredibly many shabby, old dilapidated caravans. I don't understand how anyone can feel comfortable in such a dump. The campsite operators were very nice and helpful. Spaces for tourists were very generous and well-maintained. If you ignore the many permanent campers, you can spend a few days of vacation here.

Too many permanent campers!! Poor sanitation

Well... the sanitary building no. 7 was unfortunately never clean and smelled the whole week we spent there on vacation. Our pitch on the west shore with a view of the lake was very nice, but unfortunately, there were far too many permanent campers on the left and right, many in a not very good condition. The Greek restaurant on the site is highly recommended, as is the Italian.
