At the reception, no one speaks German, as stated in the ADAC evaluation. The site is located in a nice spot; the grassy areas are partly very sloped. Mostly, houses with private WCs are rented out. The toilet facilities were the worst I have ever experienced. Since the camper people are in the minority, the operator has closed off the majority of the toilets and showers. Those that were open were totally outdated and disgustingly dirty. We were on a 3-week trip camping at 10 different sites and found no dirtier sanitary facilities than at this site.

More info about Camping L'Eve

The charming Camping de l'Eve site is just 100 metres from the beach.

Camping de l'Eve with private beach access

Nestled in the marvellous landscape of the Loire-Atlantique region, the campsite extends over 7 hectares. The close proximity to the beach, which is easily accessible via a subway, makes this site a real gem. Gentle hills and shady hedges and trees structure the site. Camping de l'Eve also has an inviting open-air swimming pool and a small heated outdoor pool with a glass roof. Children in particular have a great time whizzing down the water slide and enjoy the regular entertainment programme. Sports enthusiasts can play tennis or table tennis. Dogs are welcome. In addition to pitches, the campsite also offers mobile homes for rent.

People have been bathing on this coast since the Stone Age!

The romantic harbour town of Saint-Nazaire is just 1.5 km away. The Loire flows into the Atlantic here, which made this place attractive to settlers even in prehistoric times. This is evidenced not least by the towering menhirs, freestanding stone giants that friends of Asterix and Obelix know by the name of "menhirs". This indicates that this area has been inhabited since at least the Neolithic period. The Route Bleue also runs through here, along which eleven important megalithic monuments can be marvelled at. Anyone interested in submarines from the Second World War will find what they are looking for at the Écomusée de Saint-Nazaire.
