June 2025

The tranquility and the location were very good. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was not open during our time because there was no lifeguard present (due to illness). But because of that, we took the bicycles. The site is under new management and a lot of work is being done and renovated. The sanitary facilities were always clean. We will definitely come back. What bothered us a bit was the noise from the circular saws on the hotel grounds. Those who want to chill on the site all day will not find peace.

September 2022

I was there in June 2022, the place had just reopened under new management. A lot of things were obviously newly done. The service was very personal, very accommodating, especially in the small café. Communication was never a problem, there are probably some students working here on the side. Evening dining is a bit difficult, there is almost nothing in the area. So I just cooked for myself. Very nice people at the place, I quickly found connections. The highlight is the pool. Huge and with an amazing view of the rock wall. Additionally, it was spotless. Sanitary facilities were also completely okay. Internet unfortunately not so great. I would love to come back With a very large motorhome, maneuvering could be a bit difficult, but I am here for camping anyway.

Campsite with Potential

July 2023

We stayed there for two nights. It's a small place and has obviously gotten new management. Everything still feels a bit provisional, but all the staff were very eager. If you're looking for a 100 square meter site and electricity for air conditioning and a full automatic, this is definitely not the right place. If you’re looking for something authentically Italian, this is a good choice. The kiosk also offers warm meals, but it is a kiosk with correspondingly small offerings. We found it nice, and the price for 2 adults and two children per night for 50 euros in August is extremely fair.

Disappointing Stay at Camping Daino:

4

Martin

May 2023

Our stay at Camping Daino was disappointing, and we mostly agree with the previous comment. Unfortunately, there were several other negative aspects that marred our experience. The quiet hours were neither respected nor enforced. We did not notice any campsite warden or anything similar responsible for this. As a result, there were repeatedly unpleasant noise disturbances from other campers or residents of the mobile homes, who set off for their activities very early in the morning. The toilet facilities were obviously either very poorly cleaned or not cleaned at all. When toilet paper is not replenished for several days in a row, it at least gives the impression that cleaning has been neglected. Maneuvering a motorhome was only difficult because the pitches were, in our opinion, very cramped. An electrical outlet of 3A is also not up to date. We were offered a "special plug" that would allow you to combine two electrical outlets, but that seemed too adventurous for us. The swimming pool apparently is accessible to the whole town, and accordingly, it has negative effects. There was dirt from brought-in food, overflowing toilet facilities, and a lack of peace. The external visitors also seem to enjoy looking around the campsite, which is not reassuring. In summary, I can only say that our stay at Camping Daino was anything but satisfactory. The inappropriate value for money and the neglected infrastructure contributed to a negative experience. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this campsite and hope that improvements will be made in the future. Contrary to the information on Pincamp, the staff predominantly speak only Italian and partly English and only a few German.

Nice campsite with many shortcomings

4

Markus

March 2023

The campsite had the potential to be a nice and pleasant place. However, the new owner seems mainly interested in profit and apparently knows very little about gastronomy and camping. It is therefore more worthwhile to drive 15 kilometers further to Arco, as you get more for your money there, especially in spring and presumably also in autumn (heated washrooms, an open cafe, and the impression that the site is also well-maintained). The pitches are very small (even the premium ones), and the access routes are sometimes extremely narrow. This makes it hardly accessible for camper vans larger than a minivan (CAUTION for branches hanging into the access) - Caravans should avoid the site if they are longer than 4 to 5 meters, as turning around the "corner" with the rig is nearly impossible without frequent maneuvering. Furthermore, those with larger rigs also have the problem that the tow vehicle will surely find no space at the pitch. Here, it would certainly be advantageous for the operator to eliminate 2-3 pitches or rearrange the places, which would already bring great relief when accessing. However, when you walk through the site, it quickly becomes clear that they rather try to sell every millimeter. We observed some who turned their arrival and departure into an adventure. With some motorhomes, one must prepare for frequent back and forth (which doesn't make the grass any nicer), and as mentioned earlier, for rigs, one should have a powerful mover with a full battery and be prepared to hook and unhook occasionally at certain pitches - especially when the site is somewhat fuller... The cafe is closed more often than it is open. Here, you can recommend the cafe in the neighborhood; it is almost always open and also significantly cheaper. Only one washroom was in operation because the second was apparently "partially renovated." The opened washroom was accordingly overcrowded, and they seemed to want to cosmetically renovate it by painting over the tiles. This paint is peeling everywhere in the showers and gives a very loveless impression. The cleanliness must be tolerated in that the same lady who cleans the washroom must also clean the mobile homes. One can't blame her, as it’s clear that she is more than just trying. In April, it wasn’t particularly warm, and the unheated washroom without windows and doors made showering a challenge, as the "shower stalls" are too small (mini showers in 80s style) to shower without getting your clothes wet. It’s pure conjecture from our side; it seems that this was not considered for the washroom under construction and thus does not promise any improvement. The power supply with 4 amperes at the pitches is outdated, and one can hardly operate electric devices like coffee machines. Charging the mover and brewing coffee is definitely not possible. The mobile homes of our friends are also aging and definitely not worth the price demanded. It is essential to note that the site also charges a person fee (10 euros per person and night) for the mobile homes (trap) - we saw this for the first time at this site. In summary, we believe that one can find a better campsite in terms of price/performance a few kilometers south for almost the same price. Anyone who still wants to go to Camping Daino in Pietramurata should keep their expectations extremely low and be ready to open their wallet wide. The reception was very eager and friendly, but they seemed absolutely overwhelmed. Pitches are allocated without considering the type of vehicle, which doesn’t matter as our impression is that anyway everyone parks wherever they think is free since there’s no control over it. The owner (pure assumption that this was him) is less friendly, and it feels like he only cares about money, nothing else. Following the new Italian motto "If you don’t come, someone else will" – well, we already experienced how long that works many years ago at the Adriatic when suddenly they were begging for guests because hardly anyone was coming anymore. This seems to be repeating in Italy right now and is slowly becoming evident in Croatia as well, in our opinion. We want to add that this was not just our impression but probably also that of other guests we spoke to. The campsite next to us has already booked for Pentecost in Arco during our stay. It is clear that the site has been left to neglect for many years, and if we understood correctly, it was only put into operation by the new owners last summer, and they obviously cannot do everything at once. However, they should also try to encourage guests to come back, which is not necessarily the case here. Perhaps they should have rented a motorhome themselves and gained some camping experience instead of just planning and trading numbers.

Friendly, family-like site

March 2023

Here we spent a few beautiful days at the impressive rock face (which we as northern Germans found very appealing;). This is a typical campsite. You hardly find large caravans or motorhomes. The plot was quite small for our 7.5m large caravan, and maneuvering was challenging. We could park our car easily in the parking lot. A great starting point for mountain hiking, climbing, mountain biking, cycling tours, windsurfing, and swimming at one of the nearby lakes, an adventure park (Elias), rafting in the nearby river... On the site, there is the possibility to rent a bike or climbing equipment. A mini shop with rolls, essentials, and delicious regional wines is right at the reception, and a small bar with tasty draft beer. Most people speak German, and English works definitely. Sanitary facilities are simple but very clean. Showers for men and women are shared; they are very small and have only 2 hooks for storage. Washing machine costs 2€. No window panes, but hot free water, soap, and toilet paper. It was warm enough over Easter. A small common room with kicker, pinball..., and a small playground. The outdoor pool didn't have water yet. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

It is quite clean - but that’s about it - The location is not bad for mountain hikers. The view is also not bad. The location itself is okay. One can get to Lake Garda relatively quickly. Internet is available for 10 minutes/day for free. However, you have to have patience when you want to go online, as others were not always able to. There is an outdoor swimming pool but in the style of 'competitive swimming'. The nearest grocery store was a 15-minute walk. In Pietramurata there is a nice youth center/pub with good concerts. (now and then)
