Camping Cala Gogo

I had made a reservation in July, and shortly before my departure, my mom passed away. They use my deposit of 30% (665€) as cancellation insurance. A real shame!!! That they won’t accept this as a "valid reason". Now I’ve lost my mom and 665€!!! Real gangster practices. They won’t see me there again!!!

We spent 2 weeks at the campsite. Right from the start, I found the sanitary facilities very outdated. I also rarely saw anyone cleaning. Children and teenagers used it as a playground. The toilets were often in very bad condition. This is of course due to the users, but also to the campsite. Not recommended! Also, the animation and the restaurant are not worth 5 stars.

Very poor sanitary facilities, old and neglected. Many things are defective. Shopping options are very bad and overpriced.

We were at the campsite for about 1 week at the end of August. The sanitary facilities were not very clean. They weren't even cleaned on the weekend we arrived. For just 2€/night extra, we got a comfort pitch with water supply and sewage disposal on the pitch. The standard pitches were quite small. Although I had reserved for 2 weeks, we were able to leave after one week without any issues and didn't have to pay anymore. The sandy beach has relatively coarse sand, which unfortunately isn’t very inviting for playing. At the shore, which is filled with gravel, it quickly becomes deep and slippery for smaller children or older guests, which is not great. However, the crepes at the beach bar were excellent :-) The playground offers a few climbing opportunities and plastic slides. It is hardly usable in the sun because the plastic just gets way too hot. At the really nice pools, artificial grass is laid out, which smells a bit musty. What was particularly disappointing for families with children was that eating and drinking were not allowed at the pool. The entertainment offered something for both large and small every day. However, those looking for peace and quiet will not find it there - but it didn’t bother us.

08/2020 during the Corona time, Pool area great, very large space, very nice plots. Beach accessible from the site but with gravel - water drops very steeply with strong currents, food at the take-away very delicious and affordable for French standards. Unfortunately bad sanitary facilities, absolutely not up to the standard of the site - cleaning is insufficient. No soap at the sink even during Corona times. Reception spoke German.

The site provides every comfort, great swimming landscapes, a large grocery store, entertainment, and tourist activities. The sanitary facilities are a bit aged but chic and clean. There is absolutely nothing to complain about for vacationers who love beach holidays in a completely overcrowded area of mass tourism. The site has direct access to the beautiful, broad sandy beach. For nature lovers, the surrounding area offers little, as the coast is entirely focused on "entertainments of various kinds." We are cyclists, and therefore this area is not for us. The campsite is not really suitable as a base for overnight stays if planning various self-organized activities during the day, as the area mainly offers summer mass events. The many restaurants and carnival-like shops will close at the end of September, and then it will be quite desolate here... The off-season prices of the campsite in September are very inviting...

We have been going to Cala-Gogo more or less regularly for 20 years. Something new is renovated every season, and the place is now back in decent condition - only the sanitary facilities need modernization. It's very loud during high season and not suitable for those seeking peace. But the pre- and post-season are top and affordable.

In October, many things are closed, e.g. shop, otherwise everything is clean and okay.
