Camping Braunlage

We had a wonderful time during our school holidays at the campsite in Braunlage. The weather was, of course, perfect with plenty of snow, and we felt very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and there’s a playground for the children. The washrooms are new and clean. It's also nice that there’s a restaurant where you can quickly enjoy a warm drink in front of the fireplace.

Very beautiful and quiet campsite, ideal as a starting point for hikes in the surrounding area.

Quietly located, right in front of Braunlage. Great bread service. Clean washing/toilet facilities.

The site is terraced and has ample, large parking spaces. We used the RV parking spaces in front of the barrier, which are large enough and suitable for large vehicles. The sanitary building has seen better days, BUT the interior is modern and very clean. This applies to all the buildings on the site. The operators are very committed, helpful, and friendly. The roll service to campers is also nice. The site gives a well-maintained impression. Bicycle tours, hikes, and walks are possible from the site. Ideal for dog owners. Unfortunately, the forest around the site has been cleared. The restaurant does not offer culinary masterpieces but provides a fair price-performance ratio. In bad weather, the parking spaces remain usable.

Sanitation and service super and friendly. In the kitchen, there is a hot plate that can be used for 50 cents. Unfortunately, there is no time indication; with one coin, the pasta water doesn't even get lukewarm. The registration is closed during lunchtime, and cars should not drive across the site during this time. All noisy work on the site was also carried out during this time (chainsaws, railing work including hammering and drilling). Very unfortunate when you have children who need to nap. In contrast, arriving vehicles on the site would not be as disturbing. Unfortunately, there are only a few grassy areas in the lower section; the rest is more gravelly.

Campsite laid out in terraces. Sanitary facilities are old but very clean. Friendly service. What more could you want?? We were here for a week in September. The weekend weather was great. Unfortunately, many motorcyclists found that out as well. The noise level on the terraces, which are close to the main road, can be disturbing. A good starting point for hikes in the Harz Nature Park. Unfortunately, this nature park almost no longer exists. The forest dieback has hit hard. Either large areas have been deforested or only dead trees remain. A very sad picture.

Uncomplicated, very friendly great location. Good starting point to explore the area. Only 2 km to Braunlage, surrounded by trails. From the site, you can start hiking. Roll service, gas bottle exchange top notch, sanitary facilities good and clean, pitch with electricity is a dream in the snow. During thaw or rain, it can be very muddy, don't forget the grass grid or it will get uncomfortable. Great for dog owners. We will come back.
