It was great that it is a car-free campsite. Our shopping is brought from the parking lot to the accommodation.

June 2021
We were on the campsite for 2 weeks in the summer (July 23 - August 7, 2021) and found it very relaxing with our 2 kids there. Great large playground right across from the pitch (we stood up by the pool), the lake was great. Private sanitary was a bit small, but completely sufficient. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and any issues were promptly addressed. Disadvantage, as previously mentioned: No shopping opportunity on the site for small items. But otherwise, we felt very comfortable there.

August 2021
From September 6th to September 19th, 2021, we stayed at the Borken am See campsite. We had already reserved in March 2021. After a deposit (the invoice is in Dutch), we had to transfer the remaining amount by mid-August. For the simple grass pitch with private facilities (there is no communal sanitary building), we paid €50.61 per night, which included €25 for non-refundable reservation costs, €40 for a one-time cleaning of the nearly 2 sqm sanitary cell, and €8 for an environmental fee (there wasn't even separate waste collection). There is no disposal for grey water available. There are no service or shopping options (the next shopping opportunity is a good 5 km away), the restaurant was only open on weekends, and the roll service was also only available on weekends. The swimming pool is only suitable for the sporty, as there is no staircase with a handrail. Interesting that such a thing is allowed. In fact, the campsite only consists of holiday cabins, large group tents, and a few tourist sites in between, which are basically only occupied on weekends. You should take a look at the site and not recommend it any further. Borken and the surrounding area are very beautiful, but we will certainly not come back. The price is in no way justified. We were very disappointed.

April 2021
We arrived on May 15, 2021. That was the first day after the mandatory break due to Corona when all the spots had to remain closed. Our spot was prepared. A problem with the sanitary house was immediately fixed. We only encountered very friendly staff here who are all very helpful. This place is highly recommended. The surroundings are beautiful as well. At the adjacent restaurant, which is also allowed to reopen only now, the food was very delicious and the portions are well-sized so that no one leaves hungry after the meal. We enjoyed the first 3 days and will definitely be guests at the site several more times.

We were at this site over Pentecost 2020. It is very well maintained, especially worth mentioning are the sanitary cabins directly at the pitch which are super clean and right next to the pitch. The staff are super nice and very friendly. For families with children, the site is ideal, as the cars are parked in the nearby parking lot. Nice cycling paths around the Pröbsting lake and the great quiet location. We would love to come back and can fully recommend the site.
