Below average sanitary facilities. For an arrival 2 hours early, half of the daily rate is still charged! Conveniently located for visits to Hanover and for trade fair visitors.

Actually quite a cozy campsite. Old rusty sanitary facilities. In mid-April, no water at the pitches. But it was only revealed later on request.

We stayed for three days at Birkensee as part of the Hannover Marathon. The site is quite nicely located, despite the nearby fast road. Particularly in the back area of the site, it is not audible; at night it is quiet. The sanitary facilities are very clean, just like the entire site. The staff is very friendly and the small catering is worth recommending. We will definitely come back next year (for the next marathon).

We were two because we were passing through, went to the campsite to charge our phones for a few minutes, as they were our GPS and we also had no charging option in the car. So we went to the campsite and asked for it, wanted to have a beer and something to eat in the meantime. That was denied with the reasoning "Then everyone would come", which I interpreted as totally ridiculous. Then the man from the "restaurant" said that beer and food were not possible because they would only open at 5 PM. I said okay, then we’ll retreat for half an hour, we also get 5 euros for charging the phones, but he didn't want that either. He replied that if one could already consume something, charging would be no problem, which is completely contradictory to his previous statement. And when we wanted to leave again, he said we could charge in the car. (Yes, if we could do that, we wouldn’t have had to go there). So his entire chain of argument was totally ridiculous. He had simply left us sitting there as travelers. So totally antisocial behavior, he just didn't want us to charge our phones for a few minutes :D so I see customer-oriented behavior differently. I would have wished I could write exactly the opposite, but unfortunately, that's not the case.... it offers me no basis to spend a few days there....

Sure, the highway can be heard, so it is conveniently located by it. But what a sweet, well-maintained campsite. The lake is a bathing lake, very clean.... nature, after all. Last stop for us, which was definitely worth it.

We, 2 adults and 2 children (1 and 3), were passing through to Denmark. We used the campsite as an overnight accommodation. The sanitary facilities were good and clean. The playground was well maintained. The staff was friendly. There is some traffic noise present. An extra point goes to the flexibility of the campsite owner. Since we wanted to leave at 4 a.m., which is during quiet hours, he turned a blind eye and gave us a spot right by a side exit that we could use to avoid disturbing anyone with our departure.

The campsite is well-kept and the sanitary facilities were very clean. Unfortunately, there are no shopping opportunities. Since the campsite is located directly on the highway, you can unfortunately hear passing cars and trucks at night while sleeping. Therefore, it's not suitable for a longer relaxing stay for us. Otherwise, everything was fine.

We were pleasantly surprised the first time. The site is small but nice. The staff was friendly. There are playgrounds, a football field, a volleyball field, and of course the little "lake." We were on the back meadow. It can get quite full on the weekend. Most people only stay overnight, as the proximity to the A7 invites overnight stays. There is a sanitary building in the middle of the site. This was in good condition and clean. You have to walk about 4 minutes from the meadow. So even if you want to wash dishes, for example. Unfortunately, there is no minimarket or gastronomy. For an overnight stay (VW bus, 2 adults + 2 small children including electricity) we paid 33€. We always love coming for a weekend to relax.
