On the Île de la Barthelasse, the Camping Bagatelle campsite is surrounded by dense deciduous trees. From some spots, you have a direct view of the Palais des Papes and the ruins of the old Pont Saint-Bénézet bridge in Avignon. The centre of the old town is very close to the bridge. The pitches for motorhomes are largely separated by dense hedges. The pitches are spread over two levels on the site. Everything is catered for on the lively site: a hotel with a restaurant is connected to the site and caters for guests' physical well-being. Guests can also have fun playing pinball in the amusement arcade and a small shop stocks groceries.

The sanitary facilities are very outdated, BUT clean! Site/rental accommodation: The pitches are without grass and therefore VERY dusty; what must it look like when it rains?

The hospitality and the geographical location of the campsite are excellent. The shaded pitch is perfect!
It would be wise to provide a fridge/freezer, tables, etc. for the cycle tourists.

Location was great. Facilities were clean Pitch/rental accommodation: It’s was okay for a night but was quite small
The younger lady was really rude on reception, not pleasant at all. The facilities are very old. The water taps outside didn’t work properly. The whole campsite could do with a revamp it’s very outdated Pitch/rental accommodation: Small, lack of hedges

The location of the campsite is great for visiting Avignon - just cross the bridge and you're in the old town. Additionally, the plots are clean and nicely shaded, which we enjoyed during the heat of our stay. Pitch/Accommodation: We had one of the nicest plots for our motorhome, with plenty of space and shade.
The site is showing its age. In particular, the sanitary facilities are quite old, as are the water points, for example. Pitch/Accommodation: A few plots away, guests were letting their dog run free and later had to search for it - even riding their motorcycle across the site. There were also several unnecessary trips by guests. It would be nice if this could be stopped.
