Camping Arco Lido

No idea if it was due to the period we were there, but it was simply not nice. The space itself was way too cramped (and our motorhome is only 6m long). The sanitary facilities were constantly dirty - even right after the 'cleaning'. The sinks were so close together that you touched while washing and were also very dirty. The showers were at least hot, but that's already the only positive. Otherwise, you feel cold. Wifi was virtually nonexistent. We definitely won't be coming back.

However, it becomes more and more unreasonable from time to time, and this was the last time. The barrel is overflowing. One must now pay in advance for the entire period. No refund for early departure. You also cannot "pass on" the spot! Even if you are alone, you have to pay for 2 people. If you have a trailer, you have to pay an additional 7,-€ per day. Also, if the trailer is parked on the already paid plot. The campsite especially promotes surfers and this was so far the reason for our decision to come here. Unfortunately, there is now hardly any access to the beach for the first time. The actual surfer area at the Sacremündung is practically closed for the entire season for regattas. The right area is occupied by the surf school. Sprich

We were pleasantly surprised by how tidy the place was. The sanitary facilities were cleaned several times a day. Despite the incredible density in August, it was quite harmonious. Many young families, servers, cyclists, etc. Mostly tree cover. The location is really great. During the day in high season, it's very lively. All in all, good.

We were there for 4 nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hiking, cycling, surfing, or just enjoying the time, everything is possible with a little bit of tolerance. The showers and sanitary facilities were well-maintained and cleaned regularly. If I were to note something, it would be that the drying area in the showers was a bit lacking. However, after the first use, you can get used to it. In the shop, there is everything necessary to start the day, including a good espresso. We would love to come back.

The pitches are small, the price is high. The showers are a disaster. Too few showers for the size of the site, the water only drips from the showerhead when all the showers are in use, the temperature is barely adjustable and fluctuates constantly. On the positive side, there is a small shop on site, the owner is very friendly and offers different types of fresh rolls every day. The site only still thrives because of its location by the lake.

Unfortunately, maximizing profits for the municipality as the operator of the site takes top priority here too. Compared to earlier, the pitches have been made smaller - as a result, a few more have been gained. However, campers are getting larger and actually don't fit on the small pitches (in some cases, one might think the owners would prefer to arrive in a truck if possible!!!). The operator doesn't care - it's all about squeezing in what they can. When the site is full, it gets tight and loud, everyone is sitting on top of each other, and the sanitary facilities are far from adequate. Only the location directly by the lake remains a positive aspect. Also, the prices are far too high in the main season - here, a family can also rent a holiday apartment for the same price and live in peace.

A good place for water sports enthusiasts and those who want to become one. Not very suitable for families, as it can get a bit louder and last longer in the evenings. But otherwise, everything is fine.
