We were here for three nights at the beginning of August. A meeting with our parents was planned, which is why we booked two adjacent bach parcels. The reservation was made back in December 2022, and the full price (235€ for 2 parcels and 3 nights) was required as a deposit immediately. Due to illness, our parents could not travel, so we then stayed one night on the bach parcel that looked more like a park/parking spot and offered no camping charm. On Friday afternoon, after discussion with the staff, we then moved to one of the available lake spots. Since this was free, the weather was bad, and the site was not heavily booked, we assumed that the additional costs for the lake spot were covered by our already paid 235€, and we were not informed before the move that we still had to pay extra fees. On Sunday, we received the final bill and had to actually pay almost 60€ extra. Our parents' deposit was neither refunded nor credited. There was only a suggestion that we should take out a travel cancellation insurance. For 3 nights of camping? Seriously? We are really very disappointed. Camping is supposed to be simple, flexible, and uncomplicated. Unfortunately, you cannot say this about this place or the operators. We threw our chip cards (for showers) in the envelope with the cash into the camping site's mailbox on Sunday morning. Even the cash for the showers was not taken into account but viewed as a tip, and the showers were charged again. The operator of this site is purely profit-driven. Customer satisfaction (in the real sense of the word) is absolutely lacking. 2 stars really only because of the direct lakeside location. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this campsite and will not come back. There are more flexible and nicer sites in the area.

We were there for three nights while passing through. Great location - but many permanent campers with rundown and visually unappealing trailers. The food is served with more care in any company cafeteria. The service/staff (self-service) was very unfriendly and always seemed annoyed. When showering (in dark catacombs under the terrace), money is deducted via a card at 0.20€ per minute. All in all - there are many much nicer places with top service and the motto 'The guest is king'.

We were very disappointed. Expensive place - better not to reserve, fellow campers who did not reserve and left earlier did not have to pay anything! We had reserved, wanted to leave earlier as well - there is no flexibility here. Campsites facing the street are not at all acceptable, very noisy, no lake feeling. The campsites facing the lake are much nicer. Very remote, without a car you are stuck.

... Some nice spots right by the lake: that's where the site shines, which also presents itself well on its own website. However, the other spots: 'Parcel' beside the stream and 'meadow' are not as nice and also very loud - the road is nearby... It is very unfortunate that after pleasant pre-communication via email, our reservation request was immediately turned into a binding booking with a mandatory deposit (pre-season)... Regardless of whether we would not have arrived or, as in our case, left earlier, the entire period had to be paid for😡... no chance for any financial accommodation! The offering at the kiosk/snack bar was rather meager... the 'shop' was not inviting for eating little things or lingering... or maybe not yet?! (off-season) Overall, the entire procedure there seems very complicated and e x p e n s i v e for the camping guests: everything has to be paid for additionally: showers, electricity over 5 kWh, camper clean/WC... everything is deducted fixed from the card and unfortunately not included. We were disappointed... will not come back there, but will go to other sites around the lake.

We spontaneously checked in for 3 nights at the Ambach campsite. The inquiry and booking were handled professionally via email. Nice reception with friendly guidance. We parked our camper van in a gravel space, a truly spacious pitch. The adjacent road was audible, but did not pose a significant disturbance. Top location with a fantastic panorama. It gently goes into the initially stony Starnberger See - great for children. Just like the Schwaiblbar, which offers a fantastic integrated sandy playground for everyone, a little spot to chill and play. We will definitely come back and can only highly recommend this campsite!

Unfriendly staff, especially the obviously always grumpy campsite operator. Camping plots at somewhat normal prices are very loud, as they are right next to the riverside street.

We were here for three nights and were lucky enough to snag one of the highly sought-after spots right on the shore of Lake Starnberg. We were fortunate that the campsite had not yet fully opened or become usable. There were renovation works on the sanitary facilities, and there was no water at the pitches because it could still get quite frosty at night. The price was €25 including electricity, water, and waste disposal. The machine would have cost €2, but unfortunately it was broken; however, you could still dispose of your cassette toilet as usual at another location. The view over the lake directly from the pitch in the very first row is truly unique. We would even treat ourselves to the luxury of spending one or two nights here at full price when we are back at the lake. It is simply too beautiful. Tip: about 900m away you can reach a real traditional inn, the Buchscharner Seewirt. Zirbelstube charm with good food.

The site is very beautiful, surrounded by trees, directly by the lake and close to a recreational area. Electricity is charged at a flat rate of €4/night (eco-electricity). There is disinfectant for the toilets in the WCs! The shower area is okay, could use some renovation. You receive a key card for showering with a credit of €10. What you consume in water, you have to pay for. Showers are not free, as is often the case. Just eco... There are many permanent campers. However, the layout is such that you do not get in each other's way. Overall, you feel quite private and not on display. The lake is wonderful, and the nearby meadow and adjacent recreational area invite you to linger. Nice walks along the lake. Many cyclists are on the road, but it is not as bad as at Lake Constance. There is no entertainment and no leisure facilities on site. There is only a shop and a nice beer garden. Simple, clean, beautifully situated, quiet, friendly people, high recreational value.
