Camping am Kühlhaus Görlitz

Hello, I cannot give a positive review for this place. I was asked to leave because of a German flag at the site! (was called a Nazi) This campsite is actually financially supported by the city of Görlitz. If you really want to camp well near Görlitz, then go to Berzdorfer Lake (Blue Lagoon).

Small place with free choice. Mostly shady. Baker about 1 km away. Reception with a few drinks only open from 5:00 PM. Nice, helpful people. Very quiet at night. Sanitary facilities clean but very basic and a bit cramped (container).

We were here at the campsite for 6 nights and had no great expectations. Instead, we found a site with many trees on the grounds of an industrial wasteland, which had a special charm and was done with great attention to detail. The kitchen area has more than one could wish for, e.g., a baking grill or a microwave; you can use a refrigerator and borrow games and books. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean and complete. There are even hair dryers in the showers. You can sit here in a beautifully designed pavilion – fresh flowers are even placed here, these are details that particularly caught my attention. We were very kindly looked after and are grateful for the time we could spend here. There are people here at work to whom I can only wish all the best.

We found this place by chance. It is different from the usual spots, but that makes it so unique and beautiful. Super friendly and uncomplicated. However, the gate is not staffed in the mornings. Minor downside. Otherwise, it is a good starting point for excursions to Görlitz and the surrounding area. We can only recommend this place further. Clean and well-kept.

A lot is still under construction here. That doesn’t mean it's bad. The sanitary building is a clad container. Simple and functional. The area is characterized by the upheaval of the industry. This gives it a special charm. The parking spaces are located under trees with grass. Train station with connection to Görlitz within 5 minutes walking distance. The train runs hourly once. We will come back!
