Opatija Camping

Good starting position for a great hike along the Lung Mare Panorama Path to Opatija and Lovran. Otherwise, not very recommendable and also relatively expensive.

The campsite is on a slope, is extensive and not parceled, making it harder to find a suitable free spot. Not only for this reason do vehicles continually drive around searching for a place – it also seems that there is no real night-time peace, as even at midnight travelers were still arriving. The campsite is very close to the sea, not far from the (pebble) beach where one can walk along the shore (about 4 km to Opatija). In the village, there is a supermarket, and at the entrance of the campsite, there is a small bakery stand (also open on Sundays during peak season). There are several sanitary buildings, but in the one closest to us, it was (despite cleaners) constantly dirty, and toilet paper was often missing. Moreover, the toilet cubicles are so cramped that one has to squeeze beside the toilet to close the door. And the toilet seats are so high that children cannot reach them at all. From us, no recommendation.

We were pleasantly surprised upon arriving at this campsite. Nice welcoming entrance, very friendly staff. Sites in nature, under the trees, you choose your spot. Simple but good and clean sanitary facilities. Waking up in the morning with a deer next to the tent (ok it was 6 am :-) ). Avoid the sites down below, which are close to the road. Small walking path (3 min.) that leads to the campsite-beach.

Place on the slope, terraced, free seating, sanitary facilities simple but very clean. Friendly reception. Very nice, although further (4km) walk to Opatija (Lungo Mare). Food/bread in the nearby Icici (Konsum).

Very many sloping places, terraced. No space allocation, therefore a wild mess. Unfortunately, with the rain we had too much, a lot of mud. Beautiful view and good for a visit to Opatija.

The place is confusing because there is no zoning. Sloped terrain. It is somewhat difficult to position the camper comfortably. But otherwise okay. Sanitary facilities clean, staff friendly. Good bus connection to Opatja. Nice walk along the Lungomare to Lovran. Restaurant Galeb (nearby) definitely not recommended.

The site is located close to the road. However, it is quiet at night. The grounds appear unkempt. The plots are not marked. Everyone positions themselves as they wish. The newly graveled area is very uneven. The price corresponds to that of a five-star site, which it definitely is not. The kicker is a fee for registration of 8 kunas per person.

Spacious area. It takes a little while to find your spot. At the top right, in front of the first bathrooms, there are two gravel levels for large motorhomes. Almost flat and elevated, so you can hardly hear the street noise. The bathrooms are clean and the beach is just a long staircase away.
