Well-maintained site, new, clean sanitary facilities. We left a few days before the reservation. It was no problem. Dog barking should not disturb.

Beautiful clean campground with a small Biergarten on site, pizzeria, and döner around the corner. Directly across is a Norma and behind it, unfortunately, a poorly thought-out and expensive Edeka. 5 minutes' walk to the marketplace. Surrounding are plenty of beautiful hiking trails leading to castles, ruins, and the summit cross. A very dog-friendly campground with a dog shower, many spacious fenced sites specifically for dog owners.

Actually a very nice campsite by the river with many shady spots under the trees. The staff are really friendly and helpful, but the gastronomy is only good as an emergency solution. At least there are good drinks available on site. The site itself is largely quiet - unfortunately, as is now everywhere in Germany, the grass is mowed far too often and the ride-on lawnmower is quite loud. You can also sometimes hear noises from the neighboring village, but it is by no means as loud as the lawnmower. Personally, I would prefer more peace and quiet over perfectly trimmed grass at 5 mm. What I also didn't like is that in the sanitary facilities the light is on day and night continuously, there are no insect screens in the windows, and the doors are also constantly left open (people can't close the door behind them anymore, and automatically it doesn't work).

🏕 Beautifully and spaciously furnished, plenty of partial shade, right next to the Altmühl (but you can hardly see it). Many special (fenced) dog areas and thus lots of dogs, a lot of barking and growling. New sanitary building with good facilities as long as owners don’t come to wash their dog there. Everything is top-notch!! Except the water: temperature fluctuates a lot, often lukewarm. Dishwater was often icy cold, annoying (and that in June, not even high season yet). Second emergency sanitary facility at the back of the campsite, average, poorly lit access. Planned expansion of the site? From the middle of the campsite, it is quite a walk to both restrooms. Friendly reception. Good bread service.

Quiet location by the river, sanitary building fine. "Restaurant" in the description is greatly exaggerated: it is a poor bistro. Only 1 person in the service for tapping beer (technically and professionally does not work), carrying drinks and food out (only a few tables), clearing tables, taking orders! A guest wanted to order 2 Aperol Spritz: "not possible, we have no glasses!" But there were unused glasses there. "We cannot wash now, we have no staff!" Conclusion: very poor service! We wanted to cancel our reservation in about 2 weeks, as we are staying longer in Italy: cancelling is fine, getting the money back is not! We know it differently as campers. So: never again Azur Campingplatz Altmühltal!

Nice staff. Great area right by the river. Washroom very clean. Just a pity that there are only a few washing sinks. A few more would be nice. But otherwise very great. 😊 👌

The AZUR Campingpark Altmühltal, which is popular with holidaymakers, impresses with its natural location close to many excursion destinations with equally favourable transport connections. The well-kept ambience, which offers modernity and cosiness at the same time, makes the campsite an ideal place for a comfortable and varied stay.
The spacious campsite near the Upper Bavarian town of Kipfenberg covers an area of 5.5 hectares and has 250 pitches, most of which are parcelled out. These are located on meadows, some of which are separated by hedges, and each offer between 90-100 square metres of space. Other services at the campsite include electricity connections, washrooms, sanitary facilities and Wi-Fi access. Thanks to the location directly on the idyllic banks of the Altmühl, active holidaymakers can explore the surrounding area in a canoe. These can also be hired right next to the campsite if required. Fishing is also possible here. There is also an outdoor pool around 700 metres away, which is great fun for young and old alike. If you would like to enjoy an excellent view of the surrounding area, you should not miss the 1 km hike to the viewpoint on the Kipfenberg. Another regional speciality is a trip to the slab limestone quarries near Solnhofen. Here you can become an explorer yourself and search for fossils in the ancient layers of rock. A trip to the centre of Nuremberg, around 70 km away, also guarantees a varied day out for the whole family. The Germanic National Museum, the Toy Museum, the Transport Museum and the New Museum in particular promise varied entertainment.
