Auto Camp Green Park

During our vacation in Croatia, we stumbled upon this small square by chance while making a detour to the city of Mostar, which is situated right next to a river. Almost all the pitches provide direct access to the water, including favorable wind conditions, as well as free use of paddle boats. There is a restaurant on the site serving local dishes that are also affordable for those on a budget. It's wonderful that there are still such campgrounds!

This campsite is an absolute gem, actually like a green park, located right by the crystal-clear Neretva River. One of the most beautiful and well-kept places I have ever encountered. Suitable for tents, caravans, or motorhomes, and equally for couples, families, and seniors. Dogs are welcome, but they must remain on a leash. There is plenty of space, shady, partly shady, or sunny. Electrical hookups, water points, and fairly good Wi-Fi are available. At night, the campsite is pleasantly and discreetly lit. The ground is very hard, and tent pegs have a real challenge here. Be sure to bring good steel pegs. You can borrow canoes for free and paddle on the Neretva or simply paddle across the river to shop at the small Konzum across the way. There are 2 brick grills by the riverbank, several tables with benches, and free lounge chairs available. For children, the river is a huge paddling pool. It is very shallow, and you can almost walk across to the middle. A small funfair for kids is also available. A very nice and large playground is located next to the restaurant. The sanitary facilities are impeccably clean, but there are only 4 showers and 4 toilets, which were completely sufficient. Additionally, the operator plans to build another sanitary building next year. To adapt the campsite to nature as much as possible, exclusively wood and natural stone were used as building materials. The restaurant, very rustic, is in a great location right by the river and is very spacious. You can sit wonderfully in the shade under the trees. The food is of high quality; we ate there very often and were never disappointed. There are regional meat specialties as well as fish from the charcoal grill and delicious pizza. The operator Zdravko places the utmost value on the safety and satisfaction of his guests and maintains a very warm and personal contact with them, being available and approachable for his guests 16 hours a day. I have rarely met such a dedicated and friendly person. He is a retiree himself, and you can feel that the campsite is his passion and that he is fully committed to it. His wife Draga is equally involved and ensures cleanliness throughout the grounds from morning till night. Is there anything negative to report??? From my point of view, no. There is a bridge over the river with moderate traffic, which hardly disturbed me or the other guests at all. The same applies to the train, which can occasionally be heard and honks loudly. The church clock strikes relatively discreetly every hour; eventually, you don’t even notice it, and the warmth of Zdravko and his wife makes up for everything.

Last year we were at this great campsite. If you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere right by the water, this is the place for you. The staff was very friendly and we felt very comfortable. The food was also really good. On our next Balkan tour, we will definitely come back.

Last year in summer 2019, we spent a week vacationing at the Green Park campsite with our children. The kids were able to engage well on the grounds (playground, nearby forest, nature) and we could recover well from our everyday stress. The campground operator is very nice and accommodating. We could also rent a kayak there and spend time on the Neretva River. Right on the premises, there is also a great, friendly open restaurant with good barbecue food (Cevapcici, Raznjici). Many wonderful nature details like a mini stone village and a self-built mill. Natural materials were used, and possibly plastic was avoided. Everything was done for us to feel comfortable. It was a successful trip, and as soon as the border opens, we will go back there in the summer of 2020!
