The pool is surrounded by a fence with a safety lock so that parents can let their children run around without worry. There is a separate paddling pool with a toddler slide for the youngest children. In the morning, the pool is reserved for one hour at a time for guests who want to swim their laps in peace. The nearby river IJssel or the bathing lake about 7 kilometres away also provide a refreshing cool-down in summer and are easily accessible by bike.
