PiNCAMP interview with the campsite manager
Exclusive information you won't find anywhere else.
1- How would you describe the atmosphere at your campsite in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening?
Especially in the morning, it's very harmonious. When most guests are still sleeping or in their caravans, you can hear the birds chirping. The sunset over the Alfsee is also a magical moment.
2- Introduce yourself!
I am Julia and have been part of the Alfsee team for over 10 years now. I completed vocational training in the hotel industry. Afterwards, I moved back home and started working at Alfsee. Eventually, this became a permanent main job. My passion for camping has developed over the years. I work in a great team and we get to welcome wonderful guests every day.
3- Is there a local product guests take home as a souvenir?
Guests like to take Alfsee water or a local liqueur from Pistole as a souvenir.
4- Is there a place where children make new friends especially easily?
There are many possibilities. In our children's world in Kuddel-Muddel-Land. Clown Ati and his animation team make children's hearts beat faster. The low ropes course and the bouncy cushion are certainly also ideal places to make new friends. As is the adventure playground in Germanenland.
5- Is there a situation where you repeatedly realize: "this is exactly why we do what we do"?
The smile of our guests. When our guests have a wonderful holiday with us and are completely satisfied, we know that we have done everything right.
6- What is the most spectacular accommodation you have on your site?
Those looking for a truly original holiday home will be transported to another world in Germanenland at Alfsee. The houses in Germanic style form a backdrop where your holiday becomes a journey through time. In this unique accommodation, the whole family spends a holiday with modern comfort in the direct vicinity of the adventure world Germanenland, which delights anew every day.
7- What makes your site different and stand out from other campsites nearby?
The Alfsee Holiday Park is not just a campsite. It offers various accommodation options (apartments, mobile homes & hotel), a sauna area, conference rooms, a restaurant and a multitude of leisure activities. Thanks to this wide range of options, there's something suitable for everyone.
8- What should guests not miss—even if it’s not mentioned in any travel guide?
Get a soft ice cream at Kronlages Eisfactory and watch the hustle and bustle at the water ski facility. A long walk around the Alfsee amidst nature is also worthwhile.
9- Which regional food or drink should guests absolutely try?
At the Feingeist restaurant, there is a changing selection of regional dishes. With local ingredients, fresh preparation and great attention to detail, we want guests to experience enjoyment and hospitality in a special atmosphere. Simply "Experience true local enjoyment".
10- Which spot on your campsite makes guests say “WOW”?
The Alfen Saunaland. Its design is inspired by the legendary world of the Germanic tribes. Not far from Alfsee, in the year 9 AD, the united Germanic tribes defeated the legions of the Roman general Varus. The extraordinary, nature-oriented sauna area brings this time back to life. Step in and embark on an exciting and relaxing journey through time.
11- Which story do children tell when they are back from holiday?
Presumably everything they experienced on holiday. Because boredom has no chance at Alfsee. Children can romp around in the Aquapark, find their way out of the maze, discover Kuddel-Muddel-Land with Clown Ati and the indoor play area. There are numerous leisure activities.
12- Which strength of your campsite is often underestimated online?
The Alfsee Holiday Park is located directly next to a nature reserve. There are many great cycling paths in the region. In addition to the well-known water sports offerings (bathing lake with Aquapark and water ski lifts), there is a great recreational offer with the Alfen Saunaland.

The campsite was very nice for us. What we didn't like were the partially dirty toilets (which was due to the campers and not to the cleaning) and the fact that there were no facilities for dogs to bathe and cool off.

Overall, the beach was clean, and there were great activities for all ages. Booking options for things like the Aqua Fun Park are easy to arrange. However, the time slots for water skiing were too crowded, resulting in long wait times. The water skiing course was good and quite pleasant with fewer participants. It’s a pity the beach bar wasn’t open in the evening. The food at Feingeist was very tasty, and we didn’t have to wait long for our meals, even though it was completely full. Overall, everything was good, and we might consider returning there.

I find the parking of cars on the campsite disturbing, as it makes the area feel even more crowded. I would prefer a dedicated parking space for camper cars. The free parking in front of the campsite is great and customer-friendly.

More info about Alfsee Ferien- und Erlebnispark
The holiday and recreation park of the same name is located on the north-eastern shore of the picturesque Alfsee lake in the Osnabrücker Land region. The invitingly designed meadow area is a real paradise for families and nature-loving holidaymakers: bushes, trees and driveways form natural roundels in which the pretty pitches are located. Adjacent to the campsite, the small Dubbelausee lake with its well-kept lido entices water lovers to take a refreshing dip in the cool water. The shady sunbathing lawn, an imaginative water playground for younger visitors and three fast-paced wakeboard and water ski facilities ensure carefree bathing fun and exciting hours.
Great family campsite by the lake in the Osnabrücker Land region
The Alfsee holiday and recreation park is easily accessible to the west of the A1 motorway near the town of Rieste. The multi-award-winning holiday park is open all year round and offers almost 400 spacious pitches with electricity and water connections for caravans, motorhomes and tents. There are also comfortable and well-equipped caravans for hire and a motorhome harbour for campers passing through. The campsite offers modern facilities with clean sanitary facilities, fresh water supply and the option of easily disposing of grey water and toilet cassettes. Washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers are available on site. In the colder months of the year, the sanitary facilities and the wash house are pleasantly heated. The catering facilities include a restaurant-café with a cosy outdoor terrace, a café-bistro for a cappuccino between meals and a snack bar for a quick bite to eat. Self-catering guests can shop in the two small shops on site or in the nearby supermarket. A highlight of the Alfsee holiday and recreation park is the "Germanenland". The camping village for families is built in the style of a 2000-year-old Germanic village and offers a child-friendly adventure park between mobile homes and comfortable holiday homes for up to 6 people. The "Germanenland" is not only popular with younger guests, as immersing yourself in history feels like a real journey back in time. Those who are more drawn to the water can book a holiday at the beach camp. The beach hut village for families is located directly on Lake Alfsee and offers a Caribbean atmosphere in the centre of Germany.
A wide range of leisure activities for young and old
The direct location on the lake and the beautiful nature of the Osnabrück countryside make the Alfsee holiday and recreation park a real oasis. There is also a wide range of leisure activities for all age groups. Younger guests can have fun in the non-swimmer area of the smaller Dubbelausee lake, build sandcastles on the beach or go for a spin in a pedalo with mum and dad. In Germanenland, belly runs, a skills course, a lagoon and a viewing tower are waiting to be explored. The children's autoland, where little guests can go karting and put their foot down, and the play barn are also popular, while active holidaymakers are drawn to the beach volleyball court or the football pitch at the Alfsee holiday and adventure park. The absolute highlight of the camping park are the three high-speed wakeboard cableways in the Dubbelausee lake. Wakeboarding and waterskiing beginners can learn the necessary skills on a course. After wakeboarding and karting, guests can relax in the fabulous Alfen-Saunaland. The huge sauna area at Alfsee offers numerous wellness options and promises stylish relaxation in a Germanic-inspired ambience.
Exciting excursion destinations around the Alfsee holiday and recreation park
The area around the Alfsee Holiday and Recreation Park boasts impressive natural surroundings and many leisure activities. An interesting excursion destination for young and old is the Archehof farm south of the park. Endangered breeds of domestic animals such as woolly pigs, Skudden, Poitou donkeys, Diepholz geese and Vorwerk chickens graze on the site. The maze in the neighbourhood of the ark also promises fun for the whole family. Covering an area of 3,000 square metres, dense hedges form a circular labyrinth. Around 20 kilometres south-east of the recreation park, visitors can immerse themselves in the times of the Romans and Germanic tribes at the Kalkriese Museum & Park. This is where the Germanic tribes defeated three Roman legions under their leader Arminius Varus in the famous Varus Battle in the 9th century AD.
